Movies so bad, they are good.

Post by EmperorChrostas the Cruel »

We all know movies that are so bad, they induce vomiting.

What about movies that are so bad, they are good?

Master of the flying guilotine comes to mind.
Most of the Japanise giant monster movies. (We love you Gamera! Baby Godzilla with smoke rings!)
Note, most of these movies were not FILMED as comedies! (but they are)
Hmmmmmm.

Army of Darkness. Nuff' said.

"Bones", starring Snoop Dogg probably fits into this category. It's a standard haunted house story, but the movie does sport some pretty cool effects with incredibly fake looking blood.

Do movies viewed in the context of MST3K count

If so, definitely Space Prince. Great movie, my favorite line in all of MST3K comes from it.

See, Space Prince is fighting these evil Earth-hating pirates, who are trying to break through a planetary shield established by intrepid Japanese scientists. They manage to land troops, but they are stymied by Space Prince's invulnerability to their weapons (their animated blasts fired by recycled firelighters can't harm him!). Every time they meet him, they try to shoot him, prompting him to explain that their weapons cannot harm him.

This happens nine or ten times. By the tenth time,

Patrick Swayze.

As for movies, "Embrace of the Vampire", but only because of the nudity, "Shayne's World", which is a porn movie spoof of "Wayne's World".

Plan Nine from Outer Space is just so innocent, for a grave robbing alien zombie picture.

I watched Falling Down yesterday, a really awful film I thought, but also pretty funny. I mean, it just takes itself soooo seriously...

MARS ATTACKS!

That is such an awful film it loops back around to being good, and it revels in its sheer horrific, comical badness. Something Awful would be proud!

My bro has just gone to see The Core today. I may go on Monday. Needless to say, I'm going to be laughing at that film if I'm not scratching my eyes out.
