BB62 is just two hours away from me via NJ Transit's commuter rail. I have been meaning to go and this has certainly renewed the call.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

If you're going to go look into one of the turret tours, I think they call them 'Firepower' something or other now, whatever the name they give you access inside the 16in gunhouse, which you cannot get on any other battleship open to the public presently nor during normal visits. But those tours aren't that often so you gotta check ahead.

Firepower tour is for the ship. They call it Turret II and is definitely one of the main reasons I want to go, but time has always been an issue for me especially when this tour starts at 1100.

I visited Missouri in June and went on a tour that went inside Turret 1. I wouldn't bet on any of the others though.
