List of Star Wars games and mods

Post by Alan Bolte »

I'd like to compile as complete a list as I can, with links to any websites, and possibly short descriptions. Please do not include modifications of Star Wars games to other settings, unless you're talking some sort of intentional crossover mod. A trek list wouldn't be bad either, but that doesn't go here. Start it yourself.
My main concern is space combat, but feel free to add any other types. My personal list will only include PC titles, but again, feel free to add other types in your own post.

To start with:
Lusasarts games:

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds
real-time strategy

Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Series
Dark Forces
Dark Foces II: Jedi Knight(exp: Mysteries of the Sith)
Star Wars® Jedi Knight® II: Jedi Outcast™
Essentially a first-person shooter with force powers and lightsabre combat

X-Wing Series, a space combat flight sim:
X-Wing (exp: Imperial Pursuit, B-Wing), TIE Fighter (exp: Defender of the Empire), and X-Wing vs TIE Fighter (exp: Balance of Power) have no community or websites to speak of anymore.
X-Wing Alliance, the last game.
-X-Wing LegacyOnce a community hub, this site now just has forums.
-X-Wing Alliance Upgrade ProjectA project to upgrade the models and textures from XWA
-Mod list

Game Mods:

Fate of Galaxy is a Freespace 2 to Star wars mod. In the very early stages, hard to say anything other than that it will be a space combat sim. Has full support of XWA community, looks like they might be moving over to FS2, what with the source code being released.

Starshatter hasn't even been released yet, but there already exist some ship mods in progress. Check the forums.

Space Empires 4 is a 4X Strategy game which is endlessly moddable. SDnet members have been sighted in the forums, and there are known mods and a crossover mod in various states. It's a well organized community; take a look at their mod list and forums.

Independent Games:

Our own Aaron Ash mentioned his ASP engine might be used to make a star wars game in the style of bridge commander. Haven't heard from that in a while.
