"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Someone send this to Pablo Hidalgo.

I would go to this if I could. Sounds interesting.
Although I confess I am skeptical as to how closely real-world naval practices would apply to a space-going fleet, given the enormously different environments they operate in.

For someone who can only see it all online, is watching the stream the only option for listening in on this? Or will some of the stuff be uploaded later?
Credo!

What time is the "how to not run into ships" panel?
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Oh look who the guy with the flannel shirt sitting in front is.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Cool.
In Star Trek or Star Wars, where whole fleets fight at stone-throwing distance, on the other hand...
By the way, am I the only one who thinks that that's really lazy filmmaking? Like, they think that they have to show the ships side-by-side to make it visually interesting. But there are other ways of doing things. Star Trek avoided this with "Balance of Terror". And in the Honor Harrington series, well, its not the best written (the later books, to my recollection, tended to devolve into statistics porn), but early on, they got a lot of tension and drama out of describing what was going on inside the ships, from the point of view of the crew, rather than showing the ships blasting away at each other side-by-side. I don't see why that couldn't be translated to film or television.
I'd think that, realistically, impacts in space combat would be vanishingly rare, given the ranges involved.

It'll be on the USNA Museum YouTube channel later.
Also, Chatham House rules, but someone who would be in a position to know described John Ringo as "a mess".
