Minority Members?

When anyone asks me I say I'm American. But factually I am 100% Cuban, both my parents from Cuba, with roots tracing back to Spain on my mother's side and France on Daddy's side.

I never considered myself a minority for two key reasons. One I look whiter than white, if you see my pic on the what do you look like thread you will see me (Italian is what I usually get) and then you'll see my brother in that same pic and he looks Arabic (He went through some trouble down in Miami for the way he looked immediately after 9/11) and his nickname amongst the family is "el Arabe" or the Arab. Genetics is a weird and funky thing.

Two Cubans by and large are obssesed with blending in and integration. So we tend to not think of ourselves as anything but Americans first.

But strictly speaking I am a minority.

Father's side comes from all over Europe but alot were in the Americas for hundreds of years. My last name is suspected to be of Germanic origin though.

Well let's see... I'm intelligent, rational... and my religious beliefs would make my own mother slap me (atheist) and Native American I think that puts me in the minotrity category. I was born and raised on the reservation so I really wasn't a minority there. That is until I moved to San Diego, Big Time minority here. I was curious if there were any other native americans here. Oh and if anyone is curious I am full blooded native american... naturally tanned skin, thick shiny black hair and piercing brown eyes (well my friends say it's because I'm full of shit).

I'm mostly a euro-mutt: English/French/Irish/German/Scottish/Swedish

But I have a dark complexion, so with a good tan and a moustache, I can pass as Hispanic.

As far as being a minority, nope, but I sure as hell feel like one sometimes

Interesting questrion...

Although I am of majority German/Scottish/Irish Extraction. I would ask someone to explain why scicle cell animia runs in my mother's family?

Vast majority Euro, but I am also a perfect all american mutt allegedly having ties to the natives, africa & just about everywhere.

for example the German side is Mostly Jewish German, with quite a bit of Rom, and Mongolian mixed in.
