Doomed to a worse phase of climate change knock on effects? Probably. Doomed as a species, I doubt it, some pretty potent measures exist to cool the planet back down or at least limit lethal temperature increases, it's just nobody wants to pay for them until it's a lot more blatant then it is now, and of course it's not actually a good use of resources at this stage.
