All is proceeding as I have foreseen...I hope (RAR)

Post by KraytKing »

You are gifted with foresight, being able to perceive events of the future as easily and as clearly as if you experiencing them in real time. You can only experience events as you would when and if they occur; your vision will be seen only from the eyes of your future self. Thus, you will not be able to see what the stock market will do in the future, unless future you is looking at what the stock market is doing. All that you see is experienced in real time. You can change what occurs through your actions: if you foresee the death of a family member, you may put a halt to the events that lead to it.

There is one more limitation: your prescience only extends fifteen minutes.

What do you do?

Head to Vegas with 500$ and play some Roulette, 15 minutes is more than enough to see the next spin, at payouts of 35 to 1 getting 18k a go before taxes is decent you won't be able to pay it long but you could drop 100$ and ride it until the Casino makes you stop at 8/1 four corner bets 100 becomes 800 becomes 6,400 becomes 51,200 till they make you stop. If you smart you can win some lose some and come up with 50,000-60,000k in a few minutes work.

Okay that's money sorted now then 15 minute foresight I can head to the track places a few trifecta bets when the odds are in my favor and walk away with enough money to fix things via throwing money at them.

But this is the quiet method, the loud method involves using prescience to get close to a world leader and offer services, if I have perfect knowledge of what's coming 15 minutes early short of nuking the city that should be enough of a heads up to stop any assassin.

Yeah, I'm really not sure what use this will be, other than ripping off some casinos or something. Well, unless I happened to be in the right place at the right time to sense immanent disaster and be able to do something to avert it.

A 15 minute is only useful for gambling in my case.

Any family member deaths, I'm likely to find out after I can't help them.

Heck, day trading wouldn't even be feasible with this.

My best hope for using it for gambling would be if i can fight a website that I can view on a cellphone, that shows the lottery numbers a few minutes after draw, and a store that sells tickets up to 5 minutes before draw.

Then it's just a matter of waiting for the next draw.

'Course, I'd also need a cellphone.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Hmmm... while we can change events, would history try to correct itself? For example, if you prevent someone from dying one way, would they still die another way shortly afterwards?

While it may not be useful for day trading, it can be used for trading in cryptocurrency. Bitcoin markets are always moving, so if you see 15m in the future that it went up 5%, you could buy low, sell high, then rinse and repeat.

Also, lottery scratchers would work too. You can just look 15m in the future where you bought hundreds of scratchers from the neighborhood 7-11, find the highest paying one, then in the present just buy enough to get to that winner. Won't make money as fast as Lotto or Powerball, but it won't require perfect timing to pull off.
You will be assimilated...bunghole!

Also, can you attempt to change the future multiple times provided you are still within hte time period allowed to do so? How would that affect things? WOuld you percieve all of the attempts happening at once, or only the most recent one?

Would something like this work?

Timeline A: go to store to buy scratch and wins 15 min in the future, leave store.
Timeline B: After knowing which scratch and wins are winners, go to store and purchase only those ones, leave store
Timeline C: remember that I forgot to buy milk, so I change the future again by going to the store, buying the winning lottery tickets, buying milk, and leaving the store

Now that I think of it, this power could definetely come in handy for mundane tasks that still require some timing. Like catching the bus, since no matter when I leave the first time I always seem to just miss it. Or ending the great debate of whether I should keep watching the movie or leave when I really have to use the bathroom. Now I can do both! Original me watches the scene up to 15 minutes in the future, then present me decides to change history and use the bathroom instead, since I now know what I would be missing. Now I'll always know when my food is fully cooked or it needs another 15 minutes in the oven! The possibilities are nearly limitless!
