Remember the big debate we had way back over Kirkuk?

Your advice for them - to sit inside their basements and NOT FUCKING
MOVE AROUND the streets, could have saved those people, but they
chose to run across the roads like there was no war on...that killed
them, not the Marines...

Indeed so, though it can also be said that the Iraqi failure to obey the Geneva Conventions is killing them - They do, indeed, exist for a reason. When soldiers fight without uniforms, certain precautions have to be taken to defend your own troops. Those precautions result in more civilians being killed. It's regrettable, but necessary.

The point in posting the article, however, was to demonstrate the stresses our military forces are operating under because of the Iraqi failure to abide by the laws of War, and how this may have excerbated the situation with the Portugese journalists.

Although I dont condone it, you are right. These things do happen, in all armies to a greater or lesser degree.
