Psi Virus infects an SSD(copied from OSF)

Post by FaxModem1 »

Lets say that the Executor with Darth Vader aboard, comes across a vessel, they see whats inside and find the entire crew dead. When they return to their ship, they brought something with them. The Psi 9000(the one from the episode," The Naked Now") virus.

What ensues?
(Keep in mind, its a virus that shows symptoms, but no cause, so it will be kinda hard for the doctors to find, and just wait until their infected.)

Um, how would they contract the virus since Stormtroopers and Vader have environmentally sealed suits?

Considering that neither crews the vessel, and in fact make up a small minority of the ships compliment

Considering the fact that the Empire actually USES full NBC protection on its soldiers, I can't imagine why they would send an unprotected scout operation.

This isn't Star Trek. Star Wars captains may be smart enough to only use troops in sealed environment suits to explore a ship that, for whatever unknown reason, has had its entire crew die as opposed to just beaming over people wearing pajamas.

I think the idea was to assume the SSD became infected. Can the virus be detected other then through symptoms?

Well Star Wars' bioscanners are suppose to be pretty good, I mean, can UFP medical scanners tell which planet a human comes from?

And there was a chance that this particular bioscanner (ref: the first book of the Han Solo triology, can't recall the name at this moment) could have been either a civilian or out-dated military model.

I would say that even if Vader was somehow exposed, the virus probably wouldn't be able to get a hold on him, because of his powers in the Force. There was that whole thing in the NJO with Mara being the only one able to resist that virus for so long because of her Force powers. Granted, it took Vergere's tears to cure her, but she held out and protected herself and her unborn child for a long time. And I think it goes without saying that Vader is far stronger than Mara Jade.
