When antiwar demonstrators gathered outside the Fox News building in Manhattan, the network's outdoor news zipper replaced its headlines with taunts:

"War protester auditions here today. . . . Thanks for coming!" And: "How do you keep a war protester in suspense? Ignore them." And: "Attention protesters: The Michael Moore Fan Club meets Thursday at a phone booth at Sixth Avenue and 50th Street."

Unfair and unbalanced? "I thought I'd have some fun with it," says Fox zipper-writer Marvin Himelfarb, a former Hollywood screenwriter. "I couldn't resist."

Nice to see they don't take themselves to seriously... Cnn could use a few lessons..

How delightful, if the activists weren't pissed before they are now. A very pleasing thought...

Further reinforcing the notion of fair and balanced reporting eh Fox News?

Note I'm not saying that CNN or anything else is balanced/fair, it's just that news services are at least supposed to maintain the appearance of impartiality...

Oh lighten up. It's a Murdoch network for Chrissakes. The only people who think it's fair and balanced are the people who agree with everything it says anyway.

Here's a question: who says the news has to be balanced at all? The anchors, reporters, producers, editors, and the rest are all human and they all have opinions just like the viewers. As long as they get the facts right, who gives a shit what the network's opinion is?

>ahem< As an anti-war advocate and protestor, I feel it necessary to come right out and say what is on the minds of every anti-war protestor who has read this article. There are four words that burn with a passion in the minds of all those whom you have deemed "hippies" and "pot-smokers" and "peace Nazis." These four words are the crux of demonstrations in general, idealizing the general sentiment that has arisen as a result of persistent and vehement rallies against this war. Those words are:

Indeed, Fox basically admitting that they have a conservative slant is a breath of fresh air.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
