How many of you listen to Evanescence or groups like them (like Lacuna Coil, for ewxample). Just getting a bit of a taste of music preference here..

Evanescence. It's a new rock group that is actully quite popular. Do a search on MP3.com and listen to it there.

They're great...

I've got a couple of their songs on my playlist now.
I think they were greatly popularized by Daredevil.

being on the daredevil soundtrack helped them a lot. People are buying the cd and they are getting radio play from it.

Evanescence = win

Amy has a beautiful voice.

I've only heard one Lacuna Coil song, Soul Into Hades.

Listen to "Falling" if you ever get the chance.. they're on MP3.com, so it's easy to find them.

[EDIT] I think theres another called "Into My Arms" but I'm not sure.

I've downloaded three of their songs so far:

"Bring Me to Life"
"Haunted"
"My Immortal"

They're all fabulous. The first totally rocks out, the second is kickin', and the last is so gorgeous it makes my heart ache in my chest when I listen to it. Le sigh, so beeyootiful......

Oh, and I only just saw the video to "Bring Me to Life" a couple days ago (I've known the song for a couple weeks), and the lead singer chick (Amy, I take it, XaLEv?) looks exactly the way I pictured her. It was cool and freaky at the same time. :D

Is it just me or does the singer sound remarkably like Sarah McLachlan? Pretty good music, I'll have to put it on my buy list so I don't forget about it after I'm done with my current Hendrix & Satriani guitar goodness binge.

Edit: And is it just me or is there also a resemblance between that Amy chick and Canadian singer/songwriter Sarah Slean, who I also recommend.

Edit2: I'm losing my mind and can't type coherently no more.

I just have that one song on the Daredevil soundtrack. It rocks all hell though.

Evanescence fucking is awesome... they were just in my home town of Dayton, OH not to long ago playing a concert and it just rocked.

Lacuna Coil is really good also and if anybody here likes them, i'd recommend Paradise Lost who has a similar sound. All very good.

Evanescence rocks. I picked up their cd a couple weeks ago. The songs I like the most so far? "Bring me to life" "Tourniquet" "My Immortal"
"And as I promised, I said I would read from the bible..." "...And if we could turn our bible to Pslams..."Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones." (Pslams 137:9) So let me ask you a question? Who is the worst influence, God or Marilyn Manson?" "God!" I just got "Whisper" which is tres bien, and also tried to get "Tourniquet" because I was attracted to the name, but the copy I got was fucked up. I hate that.

That's so sweet of you! I do have AIM, and that would be absolutely wonderful, but I have to get to bed right now. Can we maybe set up an AIM date and do it sometime later please? :D

Fucked up how? Did it cut out occasionally and play either three beeps or a "zzzuezzziuezzu" sound?
