He took the baddest photo of a war victim. Couldn't he take anything less than that?
*heh* But he's not too bad at describing the war.

Lì paludi, minacce, cecchini coi fucili, documenti, file notturne e clandestini

he's about as trustworthy as a used car salesman. Think about it, this is the guy who was fired from CNN for completely fabricating a story in 1998! The first time a journalist deliberately tells a blatant lie to advance his or her career is the last time i listen to them. Are you sure he is a guy that any of you want to rally around? There are plenty of honest journalists who disagree with the war, i'm sure. This guy is a lying piece of shit. and now he works for a tabloid. Funny to see how he spins it. He goes from one of the most respected magazines in the world and the most watched news network in the US to a sleazy tabloid rag, i'm sure he'll try and play it as an upward carerr move.

He seemed pretty upset to me in the article. I just thought it would be good to pose his side of the story.

he does, but nothing he ever says again should be portrayed as honest journalism. Honest respectable journalists do not go on the state owned media in a tin pot despotism and give praise and homage to it. Honest respectable journalists do not weave half-truths together with fabrications and call the end product 'news'.

Wasn't this the assclown who made up the story about the Army gassing American defectors in Vietnam?
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. Didn't they say the same thing during Desert Storm, or the invasion of Afghanistan?Nathan F wrote:He spewed a bunch of BS about how the war was lost and the US was fighting a hopeless battle.
In other words, aid and comfort to the enemy.
I wouldn't exactly describe it as aid and comfort to the enemy, just one's personal prejiduces.

Careful, there. In every major newspaper there has been more than one fabricated story, but the people who write them are generally good reporters. Mike Barnacle was caught writing lies for the Boston Globe, and was one of the most revered journalists of all time. He was fantastic even when he wasn't lying. But if there's no story, there's no article. And if there's no article, there's no paycheck. And if there's no paycheck... well... you get the idea. Many reporters fabricate the occasional story just to put ink to paper and get a paycheck. That doesn't mean they're bad reporters, just unwise.Col. No, it means you can't trust them, and that makes them bad reporters.Queeb Salaron wrote:Careful, there.
