Bernie's the way of the future? Democratic socialism has legs, but Sanders not so much I think. His moment was in 2016, and he blew it.
I think he means Bernie's policies/movement, not Bernie himself. Realistically, Bernie will never be President. The question is who, if anyone, can succeed him as leader and standard-bearer for the Left in America, with AOC being the obvious candidate (even as a Bernie fan, I'll freely acknowledge that AOC is basically everything good about Bernie, minus a lot of Bernie's weaknesses).
In more disappointing news for progressives, early results suggest that Ilhan Omar may have just lost her primary.

Yeah, right now his best bet is to promote other demsocs and continue the proverbial struggle. Perfect policies behind an unelectable politician are pointless.

Mixed bag today. Omar is struggling and may lose her primary. Also, a runoff in Georgia looks to be won by the Q Anon candidate, and given that its apparently a solid red district, there will likely be at least one open Q Anon believer in the House next year to shame America with their presence.
On the plus side, as I noted earlier, Dems flipped an SC State House district by a twenty point margin.

Hmm, seems the early results were not indicative of the final outcome. Omar pulled it off, and the Squad remains intact for the time being.

There is a decent amount of pettiness behind it. But it’s also based on real concerns about how he would scorch the earth if the nominee wasn’t a friend of his, or if he felt (for no good reason) that he deserved the nomination but wasn’t given it. I’ve been over this a hundred times in the past. I’m not terribly interested in relitigating it in detail again with a ban hammer hanging over my head.
Bernie’s the way of the future and his policies would do more than Biden’s mediocrity
This is an amazing statement.
I had a Bill Maher quote here. But fuck him for his white privelegy "joke".
Here's is Bernie's actual statement on Facebook regarding Harris's nomination:
Bernie Sanders wrote:Congratulations to Kamala Harris, who will make history as our next Vice President. She understands what it takes to stand up for working people, fight for health care for all, and take down the most corrupt administration in history. Let’s get to work and win.
Yeah, you can just smell the "scorched earth".

That’s because Joe Biden didn’t die suddenly yesterday, and you know it as well as I do. If he had, Bernie would be agitating in a likely doomed attempt to get nominated this very hour. Probably the likes of Weaver and Sirota would not even have waited for the body to hit room temp before they started talking shit on his behalf.

Yes, of course. Despite Bernie's months of gracious cooperation with the Biden campaign, he was totally scheming to stab us in the back and destroy the party at the first opportunity.
Seriously, FireNexus, you need help. Your posts about Sanders sound eerily like the fevered paranoia bordering on delusions that Republicans and Bernie or Busters have about Hillary. You literally remind me of the people insisting that Hillary would be the nominee again somehow, or Tulsi Gabbard claiming that the primary was a race between her and Clinton, or the people who are still insisting that some secret plot will make Hillary VP or Presidential nominee.
You do not want to sound like those people.

Its just frustrating to see people seemingly determined to refight these fights when the primary's been effectively over for months and Bernie and Biden have been nothing but gracious and cooperative toward each other in that time. It irritates me when Bernie or Busters do it. It irritates me when Bernie opponents do it.
Probably best we leave it here. There is literally nothing served by rehashing primary grievances, which was my whole point to begin with.

What's frustrating is the constant bitter snipping and flamewars and the fucking endless reports because you're going full Hall Monitor and calling people Nazis and genocide apologists. COULD BE THAT. COULD FUCKING BE THAT.

Sure, I'm to blame for pointing out that mr friendly guy and others are dishonestly questioning an ongoing genocide and smearing those who acknowledge it. Not them for doing it, just me for complaining about it. Definitely no double standard in moderation here.
As I told you when I made the report, I will not participate on a board which tolerates or condones genocide denial or apologism. I also said that if you felt my reports were unwarranted, I wanted a ban.
I request a permanent ban.

I've thoroughly enjoyed significant portions of the coverage of "the Squad" as being struggling in their district for whatever reason and then seeing them win their primaries by incredibly healthy margins. Good for them.
In other news, a Kennedy may lose a Massachusetts primary. Turns out that primarying someone from the center is a hard task.

The closest Squad race was Omar's in Minnesota. In spite of the usual lowlifes pumping millions to her main opponent (to the point where they had about the same amount of campaign money), giving him a few million more in free media puff pieces while doing one article after another about how she's in deep trouble with "stiff opposition", plus the non-stop hatchet jobs on her, she won by 18.2%.
That is EXACTLY the same margin by which Reagan beat Mondale in 1984. Now Mondale may have had a reputation for stiffness, but it wasn't because he was much of an opponent against Bitburg Ronnie. In fact, that margin of victory was and still is one of the greatest blowouts in electoral history. But for an immigrant black Muslim woman with a headdress, it's only squeaking by. I found this response on Twitter to be the perfect summation of the media's latest fit of bias:
Good to see Rep. Ilhan Omar win her primary big.
Usual caveats about electoralism, the D Party, etc, but her haters are among the lowest pieces of shit on the planet. Hope this reminds them, again, that they suck, that no one likes them, and they should just go fucking cry.

The only reason I can think of that you want to be permanently banned is to support your narrative “See, they all support genocide, and look they banned me for exposing them!”
IMO a more appropriate response would be to the revive the dunce cap and put it on your avatar instead, though that’s just me.
You make a lot of good points btw, but it’s really hard to take you seriously when you’re spazzing out all the time and accusing/ reporting everyone who disagrees with you.

Eh. Romulan made some good points and the chinese muslims ARE being genocided. The problem was that he was overly strident and didn't really know to adjust or tone things down
Genocide apologism and denial has been a part of the board since the very beginning, in the sense that there has always been an infestation of communists (proportionally more over time as sensible people departed and left-wing groupthink took hold), and mass murder is a fundamental inseperable part of all communist regiemes. I don't know why you're suddenly going off about it now, 18 years later.
Dude....no. Social conservatism has been just as likely to promote genocide (Nazism is textbook social conservatism). Shep David Solid Snake and others openly called Palestinians subhuman animals and whites themselves out for Israel while excusing their apartheid actions.
That KA ignores the sins of communism doesn’t change that social conservatives tend to be just as horrible
Left, Right once you got to extreme ends both are just as bad and honestly not really that different in actions.
As for TRR I think his core issue was that he was unable to see those that disagreed with him as truly human, that in his mind if you politically disagreed with him you had to be doing evil for its own sake and do so knowingly. That's why he didn't tone things down when he should have, because he honestly thought there was no need. That said that's my impression and as he's not here to defend himself I don't want to talk about this further.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Biden is up 10 points in the national polls. In key states, even some states he should not lead it, he is up past margin of error. Trump still hasn't done jack and shit about COVID except to dump trillions in the markets to 'stabilize' them. People are broke, unemployed, and scared shitless about getting sick and the GOP led government isn't helping them.
It is really unfortunate Trump is going after the mail for obvious corrupt reasons. But, again, the GOP Senate feels like it's no big deal and left on vacation. I've accepted the fact that the US postal service will be fucked up for this election. That said, it's not as dire as it first sounds. That I'm aware of, correct me if I'm wrong about individual states here and there, but all states should have county drop boxes for mail in votes whether they are a new thing this year or absentee ballots.
Plan early, vote early, go to the county drop box and put it in yourself so they don't have to rely on the USPS. 80 something days to figure out how to go from your home to the county drop box. Do it and vote the piece of shit out and set up a Presidential Commission on the last 4 years.

I’m very worried that the whole conniption about mail-in voting starting months ago was that the Russians have hacks for the voting machines, and the mail-in vote would represent an unhackable paper trail. Now I have the choice of mail voting that might not get counted or in person vote that might make me sick and might not get counted.
