ASVS and Spacebattles. I found ASVS first, and then discovered SB at the time of the first invasion (of SB by ASVS).

I'm kinda in an odd position. On ASVS I started out as a trekkie. I still stick up for trek there... more out of tradition than anything else. But on SB I'm a warsie.

Probably because the Trekkie group on SB is much more vocal and a bigger presence, and you're definitely fond of standing up against what you see as the status quo.

With the SD forum being the best, of course :)

I hail from Spacebattles and I've never found it a pro-Trek board. Almost every poll shows that B5 are by far the biggest group there.

Here's a link to a poll on SB as to how the fan bases are divided:

http://kier.3dfrontier.com/forums/showt ... d=25277&s=

as you can see, Star Trek only gained 15.38% of the vote, while B5 and SW received 53.85%and 23.08% respectively.

But as you are in Texas, can you tie your shoelaces without help?

And how many grandparents do you have?

Another SBer.

I reckon SB is actually quite open for sci-fi. I don't think either Trek nor Wars is dominant usually (except the ICS has pretty much flattened a lot of Trek debate there, it seems).

Well, technically, I'm 'from' the Darwin Awards message board, but spacebattles was my first sci-fi board..

There will never be a resolution in the evolution vs creationism debate because neither side can conclusively prove that they are right. The creationists can't prove that they're right becuase they're not, and the evolutionists can't prove that they're right because the creationists are too damn stupid to listen.

Of late, I am "from" Spacebattles (were I also have a moderator possition), pbreview (paintball discusion forums), Sarna.net's discusion forums, Fanpro's clasic battletech discusion forums (though not often), Warships 1's discusion boards (lurking now), Morrowind Cronicles' discusion forum's, and Taladren's forum for Starfleet Command II models.....

Yes, I obviously have too much time on my hands....

Ah, yes, the much-overrated 40K universe..Really, a single Wyr'cacntr could handle all of them and the Chaos Gods by itself, not to mention the Jjaro!

I'm from SB. I was a trek supporter but quickly became more moderate and now I realise that SW would kick ST in the groin so hard it wouldn't be funny....

Vorlan wrote:I'm an old-timer from Spacebattles, I guess. I sorta found the enviroment...'lacking'. It just got too hostile over there. So, here I am, "Grand Admiral Vorlan", but with a much simpler name to type out.

I personally feel there is a lot of SW bashing on Spacebattles, but you shouldn't count it out. Last time I was there, there were a few supporters. It did seem sorta wierd though...the boards had the distinct flavor of Trekkies and Republicans.

Well, I am from SB (I am the "Good" Super Moderator over there  )

Although, SpaceBattles has changed quite a bit. Wars is moving up while B5 is moving down in support (and Trek support has pretty much plummeted).

(or, at least, thats how i see it....)
