I think the people of Westview just wanted this problem gone, so they can pick up their disrupted lives. They wanted to be 'background' again, and left alone.
Fortunately, the disruption wasn't TOO bad. Really, a viral outbreak could have caused more havoc on the town then Wanda's hex. (As far as we know, no one died). (Imagine a small town like that getting an outbreak of COVID-19 starting with the schools....) People WILL be able to pick up and move on with their lives. Hopefully, the government will assist them with that.
One also has to wonder, if the people of Westview saw what their town COULD look like, thanks to Wanda's hex.
pre-Hex collapse, that town looked great. Hex collapse, and it's back to run down.

I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.
It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Comparing this to COVID is an awful argument.
I live in a place where COVID basically doesn't exist, I'd still rather a COVID outbreak than be subject to the Hex.
Several weeks of being mind controlled. Several weeks of unexplained absence from your workplace. For every single person.
Compare that to social distancing, wearing masks, and not being able to socialise? You can't socialise in the Hex anyway unless Wanda wants you to.

Re: WANDAVISION (SPOILERS, SWEETIE!)
23 EMMY NOMINATIONS!!!
Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.
"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP" -- Leonard Nimoy, last Tweet

I don't like their odds in the acting categories considering Hamilton also exists, but it's cool to see streaming services beating basic broadcast.

That we dying younger hiding from the police man over there
Just for breathing in the air they wanna leave me in the chair
Electric shocking body rocking beat streeting me to death"
