I'd vote for stupid.

I know but I just wanted to remind people that there are idiots like these French vandals in every country, even USA. Blaming the every Frenchman for what happened at the cemetary is simply fucking stupid.

It would be "les femmes," not "le femmes." Just to let you know.

what really got me pissed off last night, wasn't so much the neo-nazi's that trashed the cemetery, it was this:
FRENCH OPINION
34% - support US-led forces
25% - support Iraq
31% - support neither side
Source: Le Monde/TF1 poll

... in a poll published by Le Monde newspaper and TF1 television station on Monday, 25% of those questioned said they supported Iraq in the war. Only 34% of the 946 people questioned said they were "on the side" of the US-led forces.

Just over 30% said they supported neither side

Come on now, let's be fair. They're French. 25% of the country is probably just hedging their bets in case they have to surrender to them.

Or maybe the 25% are the children and descendant of the rats who sold their neighbours to the nazis :?

But you know what Mike, if the shoe was on the other foot, people over here, even if we couldn't support the war would still offer France overwhelming moral support...well, at least thats my belief. A great many people in France, including Chirac try to portray this (at least to the American media) 'as a disagreement among allies' Well, there is a big diference between a 'disagreement among allies' and 'rooting for your ally's enemy' :(

It's probably one of the friend organizations' debased swastikas. Kind of like the Afrikaner Boerderbund's tri-legged crap.

Gotta' love the way Le Monde worded its poll, too - "Do you support Iraq or the United States?"

Stupid Pro-Warsie in Press-Telegram article wrote:"They trashed 87 flags, ripped 11 memorial tiles made by myself and my children out of the ground and glued the Bob Dylan song to a sign that said, 'America, land of the brave, home of the free,' ' she said.

The Bob Dylan song she referred to is "With God on Our Side,' an antiwar anthem of the 1960s.

Interesting that you should bring out Indochina war as an example of French agression. It was the communist Vietminh movement that first seized Indochina from the Japanese in 1945. Ignoring this, USA and Britain gave the authority back to the French. When the French-Vietminh negotiations broke down, the Indochina war began.

The former Emperor who returned from exile and set up a French puppet regime, which was recognised by USA and Britain powers. As the war continued, France sent troops to fight against the communist Vietminh. The French troops were fully equipped with American weapons, as USA provided massive amounts of military aid to France.

I have little knowledge about the Algerian independence war, but I believe it was the Islamic rebels that started the conflict by attacking government buildings.

In the late seventies Lybia attempted to invade Chad, but they were defeated by French forces.

I'm not pointing at anyone here, but neither USA or French have declared a war since the Second World War. There was no UN resolution for the Kosovo air campaign, yet we had French and American planes flying bombing runs against Serb forces. There was no UN decision concerning the Vietnam war or the Indochina war.

I think the only time when UN has openly disapproved French actions was in the Sinai campaign when they together with Britain were trying to keep Egyptians and Israeli away from the Sinai Canal.

Very true. Canada and the US have a "disagreement among allies", which means that we won't commit troops on the ground (not that we have any to spare, but that's a different issue) or publicly approve the war, but we do not root for Iraq in any way, shape, or form, and we still have naval vessels in the Gulf in support of yours. France and the US, on the other hand, are edging toward a position of mutual antipathy.

I don't know, Wong.

I still put faith in Ari Fleischer's acknowledgement that we still wished to work with France on other issues not related to Iraq.

Now things will naturally take a long time to thaw between us, but I seriously doubt that we'll still be trying to piss all over eachother more than a year or two from now - especially once reconstruction begins and French peacekeepers move in.

Like the reinstatement of French Fries into the American diet. After all, France held a monopoly on the fried potato industry prior to the Iraq conflict (still not a technical war yet, is it?). Imagine the profit they've lost after the US pirated the rights to French Fries and remarketed them as Liberty Fries for their own profit.

...So THAT'S the motivation for this war! The US wants to corner the fried potato market! Jesus, why didn't we see this coming?! And they dragged that red herring under our noses with the whole Oil contracts thing, all the while with their hands firmly planted in a bucket of that greasy, startchy goodness! Those under-handed, sneaky, tricksy, false Hobbitses... Trying to take the Preciousssssss....

...Whoa... need to lay off the cold medicine...
