Interesting article, I'm curious to see what the military would think of such a weapon in the future given that laser weapons today that blind soldiers are supposedly outlawed.

I still think railguns are nicer all that KE and all (pity rifle sized ones are decades off, tank ones within 20 years fingers crossed).

Laser equipped planes, tanks and now men. The future's bright, the future's instant laser death!

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but that MS-Paint image they have on their site makes the thing look almost exactly like a Star Wars Stormtrooper rifle.

Nah, just a good design, remember that the Stormie rifle is based off some old Sten gun models the British used in WW2 so it's viable as a real gun (just like Han's DL-44 which is really a Mauser) unlike other sci-fi weapons.

Aw, hell. It's a couple of guys with some big toys trying to make things go boom. I bet they make Star Wars Shzoom sounds when they test-fire the thing.
