'Every' measurement we're use to is based on Earth. Would you prefer made up garbage like oBSG used where nobody knows what they actually mean?
With metres, you can sort of rationalise how they get there. It's requires some coincidence, but not too much.
Parsecs are specifically bound to Earth. You could say it's based around Coruscant's orbit and handwave it, but it's an odd leap.
"Oh no, oh yeah, tell me how can it be so fair
That we dying younger hiding from the police man over there
Just for breathing in the air they wanna leave me in the chair
Electric shocking body rocking beat streeting me to death"

"I think it’s the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

The only rational approach is just to consider it part of the translation along with why they are speaking English.
Otherwise you wind up with similar questions about language, which includes the question of what a falcon is and why X-wings and Y-wings use English letters in their names.
