Right now, the OOTS is being subjected to epic level illusions and enchantments, effectively lowering their development level, to make them easier for the final dungeon traps and monsters to deal with.

In other words - Spells make high level characters as effective as low level characters, now watch the 20th level monsters attack!

(Sarcastic Evil DM Voice) WELL DUH (/Voice)

It was kind of obvious from the start. A Rogue couldn't do all that with any degree of success.

Even if the Dungeon doors function as teleportation circles to dungeons still on that plane/world (vs planeshift effects to magically created demiplanes that make it so the monsters don't need to eat, and maybe regenerate after being killed), that's ALOT of teleportation circles.

That's would be the guy from the first 'dungeon'.

Now we have the fact you can't see past the teleportation circles to know you've been relocated. That's illusions powerful enough to screw with a Lich. Epic level illusions. Sounds like second 'dungeon'.

Not sure what the druid contributed, beyond methods to control the various high level and bloody dangerous creatures.

That just leaves the Paladins, and they are finally there.

Yeah... not a good sign when the Threads of Creation are that visible.

And RedCloak would know what to do with them.

I wonder if they can be affected by magic like Mage Hand or TK?

True
Which is why I wonder if it will affect the Threads? Are they magic, or something else?

They're the DIVINE MAGIC used to Create the World(s) that imprison the Snarl. Yes, I'd say they count as Magic, probably the Ultimate Magic in the Stick-Verse as this is the power of entire Holy/Unholy Pantheons Combined.
As Thor stated, the only thing that might have power against these is "the new crayon in the box", the Goblin Deity.

I do feel they're sort of treading water at the moment, maybe all the set up will be useful but I think we need to get along to the presumably final confrontation soon.

Don't you know about the authors submission to Dragon Magazine back in 2e?

Go back to #1292, all she says is "It's the Room with the Thing". She doesn't name it.
#1293, Sunny's back is to the party, as the whole drama of "Acid Bath" plays out. Not once do you see Sunny's front face, nor does Sunny say anything. All of Sunny's eyes are facing foreward looking across the bridge.

Whatever "The Thing" is, it mind-fucked Sunny immediately without anyone noticing. So... what extremely powerful Psyonic monsters are out there, besides Illithids?

There are about 171 Psionic monsters that were published by WOTC in 3rd edition (including ones published in the liscenced magazines under Paizo, i.e Dungeon, Dragon, Polyhedron).

Removing stuff below CR 8, Dragons, Mind Flayer related, and stuff you'd say 'yeah, it's a Yaun-ti', it leaves about 24 possibles.

Probably one of the following, but you never know

Creature, Type, CR, Source Book
Quori, Du'Lora, Dark Fury Outsider (Monster) 8 Dragon_Magazine_324
Quori, Kalarag, Eyebinders Outsider (Monster) 15 Dragon_Magazine_324
Nightseed Ooze (Monster) 14 Dragon_Magazine_330
Mind Worm, Psionic Aberration (Monster) 17 Dragon_Magazine_337
Dragon, Brainstealer, Psionic Dragon (Monster) D Variable Dragon_Magazine_337
Kadtanach Magical Beast (Monster) 16 Dungeon Magazine 100
Neh-Thalggu (Brain Collector), Epic Aberration (Monster) 26 Epic Level Handbook
Hagunemnon (Protean) Aberration (Monster) 29 Epic Level Handbook
Phiuhl Aberration (Monster) 11 Fiend Folio
Tunnel Terror Aberration (Monster) 15 Fiend Folio
Psurlon, Elder, Psionic Aberration (Monster) 8 Lords of Madness: The Book of Aberrations
Psurlon, Giant, Psionic Aberration (Monster) 11 Lords of Madness: The Book of Aberrations
Urophion Aberration (Monster) 13 Lords of Madness: The Book of Aberrations
Quori, Dream Master Outsider (Monster) 11 Magic Of Eberron
Unraveler Outsider (Monster) 9 Planar Handbook
Essence Reaver Aberration (Monster) 9 Secrets of Sarlona
Quori, Hashalaq Outsider (Monster) 9 Secrets of Sarlona
Quori, Du'ulora Outsider (Monster) 11 Secrets of Sarlona
Quori, Kalaraq Outsider (Monster) 20 Secrets of Sarlona
Usunag Fey (Monster) 8 Wotc-Web; Minds Eye
Dreamfane Fey (Monster) 9 Wotc-Web; Minds Eye
Spider, Argent Vermin (Monster) 10 Wotc-Web; Minds Eye
Living Ferroplasm Ooze (Monster) 14 Wotc-Web; Minds Eye
Onyx Worm Magical Beast (Monster) 14 Wotc-Web; Minds Eye

Then if you get into pre 3e conversions, and ignore 'obviously a', it rises up to 270 or so.

Then if you get into 3rd party......

I think he sticks to the Handbooks and Maybe Dragon Magazine, so we can get rid of anything that came out on the WOTC-Web.

The next question is "WHICH OF THESE COULD SHE HAVE TRAPPED AND BROUGHT HERE"

My bet is a Tunnel Worm variant, or a Psurlon.

That's provided it's a psionic creature. After all, we've seen that eye effect from spells to. (i.e Xylon to the MITD when he commanded him to be prepared to eat Redcloak on command).

I could produce a list of monsters that can use Dominate Monster if you want :P
