It depends. In Michigan, it's a big deal because Arab-Americans are a larger percentage of the population than other states, and it's a swing state where the margin is very small (Trump won by 1% in 2016 even though polls showed Hillary with a 5-point lead a few days before the election, and lost by 3% in 2020 even though polls had Biden winning by 8). This also used to be the case with the Cuban vote back when Florida was a swing state. Going out of your way to piss off any voting bloc when the race is so close is political suicide.
I'm not a yank and don't pay much attention to their politics. I've just been reading this thread and it appears to be a key issue, but is barely reported upon in my country. Is the MSM not reflecting American priorities?
Most foreign media (with the exceptions of TRT and Al Jazeera) ape the American MSM by focusing of the competition itself, like it's the Super Bowl, and on gossip and nasty comments. Actual substantive coverage of how they'll govern is frowned upon.

Harris makes surprise SNL appearance as polls show Trump no longer leads in Iowa
Kamala Harris has edged ahead of Donald Trump in Iowa, a state where the former president was previously in the lead, according to new US election polling.

The results show Harris holding 47%, with Trump at 44%. According to pollsters Des Moines Register and Mediacom, the result falls within the margin of sampling error, and there is no clear leader.

The poll's findings mark a shift from September, where 47% of likely voters backed Trump to 43% for Harris.

It comes as Harris made an appearance on American comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL), as the presidential election race enters its final days.

Harris starred as the "mirror image" of herself alongside actress Maya Rudolph, who impersonated her. The pair wore identical outfits and urged supporters of the Democrat candidate to “keep Kamala and carry on-ala".

“It is nice to see you Kamala,” Harris told Rudolph. “And I’m just here to remind you, you got this.”

The vice president was due to travel to Detroit, Michigan after campaigning in North Carolina before her team revealed she would be making an unscheduled stop in New York.

The final SNL show before Tuesday’s election opened with a parody of US news organisation CNN. It then cut to a sketch of a Donald Trump rally, with comedian Austin Johnson portraying the former president.

The performance referenced Trump's recent controversial remarks about Republican and former representative Liz Cheney.

It then cut to a conversation between Rudolph as Harris, Dana Carvey portraying President Joe Biden, Jim Gaffigan as vice presidential pick Tim Walz, and Andy Samberg’s Doug Emhoff.

Rudolph stepped aside for a moment to reflect before her last campaign speech, seeing the real Harris as she looked into the mirror.

“I just wish I could talk to someone who’s been in my shoes,” she said moments before the Democratic presidential nominee appeared.

“You know, a black South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area.”

Many US politicians have appeared on the long-running variety show, including Harris’ Republican opponent Donald Trump, who hosted an episode in 2015.

Hillary Clinton featured on SNL alongside impersonator Amy Poehler during her 2008 Democratic primary campaign and unsuccessful 2016 presidential campaign.

The first sitting president to appear on the show was Republican Gerald Ford, who made his debut in April 1976.

I'm really curious how much of an effect COVID-19 killing Republicans at a higher rate that Democrats is going to make.

PREDICTION: Harris will win, and it won't be all that close.

The biggest clue in the entrails on the altar will be North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania. If she wins just two of them, she'll squeak by if she pulls in the Great Lakes states. If she gets all three, it's a slam-dunk even if she loses Michigan -which is a distinct possibility for reasons Aamer Rachman describes here:

I hope you're right, they're now saying that it could be several days before the final result is known when the swing states call for one or the other.

Of those, the BBC is currently predicting North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Michigan for Harris; while Georgia is predicted for Trump. All results so far have been Holds.

As for how good this prediction is, we'll find out soon enough.

WV has already been called for TRUMP.
And that stupid miner-killing asshole with the stupid-ass dog is now the new WV Senator. (Jim Justice)

I knew there were too many idjits in this state who drank the Koolaid.

WHat really boils my blood is that WV's "ALL TO WiNNER" Policy pretty much makes my vote for Harris worthless. Even if 40% of the state voted for Harris, all those votes are discarded and ignored -- Trump gets all the Electorial Votes.
ANd people ask why I want to get rid of the Electorial College -- or at least force WV to split votes.

Guardian reports Trump at 101 and Harris at 71, all Holds.

Pennsylvania and Michigan are still showing Harris ahead, but North Carolina and Virginia are now showing Trump ahead. NC is 52.9 to 46.1 at 23.2% of votes cast; while Virginia is 49.6 to 48.8 at 43.2%. Probably still too close to call in either case.

I should sleep. But I can't.

ITV has got Sarah Palin giving her view on abortion, and being easily tripped up by Tom Brabdy by pointing out that despite being a pro-lifer her arguments actually present an extremely strong case for the importance of choice

That is what I was expecting. It took several days to learn the winner in 2020.

I had to look this up. Only Maine and Nebraska split their electoral votes.

Well, they called it for PA so I think I'm going to sleep believing Trump will win, but I'll be happily surprised if Harris wins somehow. At the end of the day, this is not on the voter. This is on the Democratic party and have always been. For the past 20+ years that I have been paying attention to politics, it has always been on the party fumbling the bag. They thought they could just ride on scaring voters to ride their ticket without offering much in return. You can talk about Biden's accomplishments, you can talk about the little that Obama accomplished, but at the end of the day, we're still feeling the effects of the 2009 recession and the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, and Democrats have not truly address those crushing effects that people are experiencing in their everyday lives. So the Dems can go fuck themselves too. No fucking excuses.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

*Sigh* I guess that's it?

While I'm a Taiwanese and living in Taiwan. I guess that's another 4(8?) more years of the local keyboard alt-right fanboys over here in high mood wanking and trumpeting their alt-right shit over basically every topic. They probably wouldn't tone down even if Harris won, but it'd be fine to give them a slap.

Think China will take this as the green light to invade since the USA won't lift a finger once the orange one moves in?

How long before the Republicans repeal the 22nd amendment?

FYI, this is the scene I was referring to earlier:

Next time I get the urge to make a prediction, would someone please take an old, knee-length wool sock, fill it with steel ball bearings and fresh dogshit, and beat me about the head and neck for at least twelve minutes?

Aaaaaaand the MSM is already looking for scapegoats: Stephanie Ruhle of MSDNC was on a few hours ago, blaming college loan forgiveness. College kids are a ripe target since they have no power, and blaming them for Trump's win also allows for some payback since college demonstrators called out Biden/Harris for the Gaza Genocide. In Michigan, Harris lost almost every college town (Maybe it was a bad move to teargas peaceful demonstrators). So I'm looking forward to at least four years of shit-libs imitating Spiro Agnew.

At the rate Trump seems to be deteriorating, it seems more likely that they will use the 25th at some point to get rid of him.

As much as I like the idea of his party deciding he's outlived his usefulness, do we know enough about JD Vance to say whether he'd be an improvement? Unfortunately this means Trump won't be going to prison now.

Being able to shut up, listen and follow simple instructions when needed would make him way more effective in office than Trump
