cloud of gaseous refrigerant.
Seeing as 1 atom of chlorine can destroy 100,000 atoms of ozone in
the upper atmosphere, I'd say I just destroyed a few million feet of
Ozone
So all you aussies, y'all better slap on some more SPF in the coming years

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the FORMATION of Ozone was what stopped the UV light, not the formed Ozone itself. Anyone know if im right about this?

You got it backwards. Ozone stops UV, and CFC, released by stuff like air conditioners, destroys ozone.
So ozone forming or ozone already there, both stop UV, though IIRC ozone in low atmosphere is harmful to living things.

R-12 is practically impossible to come by these days, but that's not my problem. My home air conditioner uses R-22. Besides, why worry about Shep's air conditioner, my family's 13 year old car has leaked out all it's freon over the winter.
