Here we go again over the length of an Executor class star destroyer. We all know about this 11 mile star destroyer, right? This guy thinks it's 12.8 km, because the "official" website says so (where did those guys get that number from, anyway?). Should I contact the people who wrote the official web page and ask them to review their estimants? Do you think they will even listen?

There's just no arguing with some people once they've made their minds up about something, and I accept that. That's why I kill them. -Othar Avatar credit
He was an ass to Vympel when he went over there and insults Saxton regularly. He's a dipshit troll.

As have already been pointed out..... 12.8 is in the exact middle of 8 and 17.6. This is probably not a coincidence. It also means that most likely, the author of the page would still be unwilling to let go of the 8 km end.

He doesn't understand perspective, when he's giving his first example of something that might contradict a 17.6 km length. (He uses an example in which the ISD is in front of the Executor, apparently not realizing that this would at best give a lower limit of the Executor size. If I held my thumb up in front of the screen, thus that mean the Executor is only two thumb-widths wide? For this to get an exact answer we'd have to know that the planes intersecting the widest portions of each ship are on the same plane perpendicular to the line of sight of the camera.
He gives an example with panning and different scrolling rates, apparently not realizing that ships are capable of movement.
His second example gives no calcs, just the assertion that it provides a number that's "not 17.6". Pray tell, what is the number then? What can he tell us from this besides the size of the window, which we already know because there's people walking about?

I wasn't.
If you want to make ANY progress there, you do not openly assault their canon policy or seem overly aligned with Saxton or SD.net or Wong.
They'll discredit you and just shut you out.
