Ride the Lightning

Is it just me or is Ride the Lightning Metallica's best album?

It's awesome, but I liked 'Load' better.

True, but Load does not have Fight Fire With Fire or Call of Ktulu.

I like Black, but S&M pretty much runs like a Best Of and also has them playing with an orchestra conducted by Michael Kamen!

Hmm.....I'm really partial to the black album....

Unforgiven and Enter Sandman....two songs with a special place for me.

I don't have any Metallica albums, but I do like a lot of their earlier stuff. S&M was awesome tho.

Infidel! I refuse to acknowledge the existence of "Load" and "Re-Load", prepare to be beaten savagely by true rabid Metallica fans!

BTW, I don't suppose this would be a good time to mention that I have tickets to Metallica's "Summer Sanitarium" tour?

I'm not a big Metalica person, I can't believe their touring with Linkin' Fucking Park.

That is intersting because I haven't heard particularly good things about Linkin' Park's live performances.

They abso-fucking-lutely suck live. The guy has no voice, and the way he shows emotion on the stage, it looks like he has no idea what the song is about. I suspect they buy their lyrics. In my eyes, Linking Park is the Backstreet boys of the Rock world.

I haven't really heard much by them. I do have The Queen of the Damned DVD and the soundtrack cd. The lead singer does one of the songs that Lestat's band sings. I like the song but you are right that his singing range blows. The DVD also had an interview with him. He seems to be a bit of a punk for a "rock star". :)

It pisses the hell out of me that I'll likely have to sit thru a bunch of shit performers like Linkin' Park before Metallica comes on and puts them to shame. I remember the GnR/Metallica concert I went to over 10 years ago that completely kicked ass, it ain't gonna be easy living up to that one. That was rocking! ImageImage

Whats worse is that they probly brought them on to bring in people. Damn preppy rock.

And Tsyroc, they sound very very very different live.

You're probably right about using LP to bring more people in, unfortunately.

I however, choose to delude myself into thinking they included them to completely show them up and make them embarassed to continue pretending to be a rock band. :D

Currently I'm listening to "UP Close". They are doing a bit on AC/DC Image with some interview bits with Angus Young.

One of my favorite Metallica moments is when they played Enter Sandman at the Grammys. Not only were they good, but the looks on some of the faces of the muscians in the audiance was priceless. Natalie Cole was grimacing and nearly in shock. :D
