any time you see a charm or spell that changes reality in any way, two things are necessary to make it work: Human Sacrifice and severe demonic possession.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. SATANISTS DO NOT PERFORM RITUAL SACRIFICES!! They look down upon such ceremony. SATANISTS DO NOT BELIEVE IN DEMONIC POSESSION!! Satanism is a largely hedonistic religion that DENIES the existence of Satan as a deity. This author has to do a bit of research before he opens his fat fundie mouth.
They feast on the souls of their prisoners!
And that makes them Satanic how? Or occultist? Or even human? Last time I checked, people, regardless of their professed religion, didn't go around sucking the souls out of people.
A. Harry is aged 13 in this book; thirteen is Satan's number of rebellion and depravity .
Bullshit. That's what the Bible says. Other Catholic doctrine denies the existence of Satan and all but rejects the legends portrayed in Revellations.

I'm sure it is. Most modern numerical superstitions come from the bible, or at least a good portion of them do. Like the number 7 is good. The number 40 is used in conjunction with days and nights in modern literature as an allegory indicating rebirth. Etc etc etc.

What's this I recall about the Vatican saying that Harry Potter wasn't Satanic? Oh, right, that's what they said.

Of course, all the Baptist and Protestant fundies don't care about that.

Of course, the Catholics aren't really Christians because only the fundies are, at least in their eyes.

C. Sorcerer's Stone -- as I have stated before, the Sorcerer's Stone is the fifth and final stage in the occult drive to achieve eternal life. In this book, Rowling correctly explains: "The ancient study of alchemy is concerned with making the Sorcerer's Stone, a legendary substance with astonishing powers. The stone will transform any metal into pure gold. It also produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal. There have been many reports of the Sorcerer's Stone over the centuries, but the only Stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicolas Flamel, the noted alchemist and opera lover. Mr. Flamel, who celebrated his six hundred and sixty-fith birthday last year , enjoys a quiet life in Devon with his wife, Perenelle (six hundred and fifty-eight)." [p. 220; Emphasis added] Do you realize Rowling has just made the creator of the Sorcerer's Stone 666 years old? !
These dumbasses don't even know how to read. Flamel turned 665 last year which means he was then currently 665 and had not yet had his 666th birthday.

Personally, I thought she was asking to open up a whole can of worms just making the guy that close to 666 years old.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

The whole numbers thing reminds me of Eddie Murphy's character from Bowfinger:
"You now what? The letter K appears in your script 15,000 times. 15,000 is perfectly diviible by 3. You know what that means? It mean KKK appears in your script 5,000 times!! How do you explain that you racist bastard!"

I think the 13 superstition is ridiculous when speaken from fundies, I mean, are they admitting that Jesus died because 13 is an unlucky number? Or Jesus and his disciples established the unlucky number 13? Both cases are ridiculous.

BAD n00b! BAD! Down!! *Thwacks with n00bspaper*

We just got through saying that the bible DOESN'T say anything about 13 being an unlucky number, nor is it the reason for Jesus's death, nor that it had anything to do with Jesus and his disciples. If anything, it was an off-the-top-of-my-head reference.

By the way, n00b, "speaken" isn't a word.

"Why didn't God save Mommy?" the teary-eyed little girl asked?

"Because he doesn't care about you" replied Satan. "Ever since the very first people walked this Earth, he never did. It was I who gave you knowledge, which he tried to keep from you. It was I who gave you freedom, which he despised. Come now, let me show you how to pick berries for yourself, just like they taught you in school."

"Will you take care of me, Satan?"

"I can't do that, Sarah. That's your Daddy's job. You'll have to help him now that Mommy's gone and you understand the need for self-reliance." Satan answered.
Could they actually argue against that?

If these people think that Harry Potter novels are saturated with Dark Magick, I can't believe how much they'll freak out when they get their hands on something by H.P. Lovecraft.

I wonder how many Christians know that the Pope gave the Catholic Church's okay on the book, blessing it and sayiong that it isn't evil or Satanic.

To be back on the original topic, I knew a guy in 8th grade who went berserk whenever someone said "Harry Potter". So we called the newly banned book HP. Of course, he recommended that we read "The life of Saint Andrew" and thought "The Chronicles of Narnia" infallible and better than LOTR......

Fundies don't care what Catholics think. They're heathens. Jack Chick wrote a whole big schpiel about it, saying that Catholics worship the saints and the Virgin Mary more than they do Jesus. As evidence, they say that you say the Hail Mary more times when praying a Rosary than you say the Our Father. ::Shrugs:: Which can be misconstrued into some kind of truth. It's certainly not the MOST illogical claim that Chick has made, (no, Muhammed... Allah does NOT love you. Only God loves you!) but it's up there.

And that remains true for a lot of fundies. Generally speaking, they align themselves with non-Catholic sects of Christianity. In other words, they could give a shit less what the Pope has to say.
