Saw the article earlier, and read through the entire thing. The guy said the observed effects can only happen if the diamond superconducting.

Shame it'll cost too much for any practical application.

You've never heard of nanotechnology have you? Or synthetic diamonds even able to be made today? Well, anyways, point is, once you have the tech to manipulate individual atoms, it's a rather logical step to just have something plunk together a box of carbon atoms in crystal.

Even if you don't have that, synthetic diamonds are made today at bargain costs. Only thing you have to worry about is fighting off DeBeers and their army of gun-toting thugs.

If you had enough carbon in just the right configuration, it could get you the latter two easily. And with six figures, you'll be able to get someone to make you coffee in the morning.
