If the 'Brainwashed/drugged by replicator' theory on fed behavior is correct then the bizarre behavior displayed by the Voyager crew makes sense.

Replicator use strickly rationed so most meals are ala' Nelix, though they wriggle out and use the replicator often.

The crew is in a near constant state of early withdrawal.

This would certainly explain why Lameway gets more pissed and violent when the replicators are down.

I've never heard the "drugged by replicators" theory.

The idea is that they are all drugged on something to keep them in 'plastic personality' mode, the replicator seems an ideal delivery system
