No, it will be a good first person shooter; that still doesn't change the fact that it is NOT A REAL TIME STRATEGY GAME.

It MIGHT.

It doesn't matter anyway, since I don't have any consoles.

But me want SC2! :P

EDIT: Also, SC:G could make debating with Starcraft easier.

Any speculation on how exactly the game mechanics will function? That is, will we be taking out Zealots left and right, or will we weep when we see them coming at us and commit seppuku upon sighting an Ultralisk?

I say 50/50.

Will have to wait until I read the review on Game Revolution to find out.

I recall Zealots having ranged weapons in one of the trailers. That should make things more challenging.

It will suck if, at one point, the main character takes down a Battlecruiser single-handedly.

Yeah, they're called "Purifiers"

Sounds like something you put into drinking water :D
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

He said IF. And if the character does, it would have to be through setting some kind of explosive to the ship reactor or something like that.

My problem with it is that it's a console only title. As a PC gamer who still plays the PS2 often, I have to say that action games like SC:Ghost work better on the PC.

It's an over the shoulder sort of game, more similar to the likes of Tomb Raider and MGS2 then an FPS.

I don't think it'll suck, but if Blizzard don't get off their arses and give us some SC2 action I may have to camp outside their offices in Irvine and randomly pick people off as they walk out the door.

It'd be cool if their action system was kinda similar to Oni...

Hopefully, they will be like the big guys from Half-life: you can take them out, but you have to a) use some wird device, or b) have an ungodly amount of weapons.

Have a very nice day.

My guess is that they'd make tougher units like Ultralisks, or Archons bosses.

I'm thinking that, if done correctly, it could be akin to Metroid Prime: A departure from the series genre, developed by a third party, and being really freaking awesome.

Now, of course, I don't expect it to be as earthshatteringly KICKASS as Prime, but I certainly hope it's a game worth buying.

Blizzard has yet to let us down. But I'd much rather see Starcraft 2.

Hell yeah. Or an AvP-type game set in SC. I mean who doesn't want to play as a flame-bat behind enemy lines, or that zergling loose in the enemies base...

It looks pretty cool, but they should have just used the WCIII engine to make SC2. I'm a little unsatisfied with the Queen of the Blades just winning. The Protoss and Terrans need to get some major comeback against the Zerg. (And the Xel'Naga)

This is the part where everybody should perk up and say, "It's going to be exactly like Command And Conquer: Renegade, except that the playable character won't move like an arthritic tortoise on valium".

On that note, C&C: Renegade had the best weapons array in any FPS ever made. I will love anyone who is able to port that weapons set over to Battlefield 1942, Unreal Tournament 2003.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

Seeing how it is from Blizzard, I'd say that it will be superb.

Only problem is (as was mentioned already) that it is (so far) only for consoles.

I hope that they will release it for the PC too though.
