Let's make a list of reasons why fundies suck ass.

1. They assume all non believers really do want to believe.

2. They think all non Christians are going to hell.

3. They seem to have a need to shoot their mouthes off and not keep their beliefs to themselves.

4. Many of them think that the world is about 6,000 years old.

5. They say that transitional fossils don't exist.

6. They care more about never saying a "bad word" than actually helping to relieve human suffering.

Any more?

Well, notice I said FUNDIES, not Christians. I am not saying that all Christians are fundies, either. As a matter of fact, it seems that most thinking Christians want to distance themselves from the fundies.

Most fundies as we think of them are xenophobic Christians. There are exceptions, of course, but I was just pointing out that Christian fundies rarely profess any love for other protestant/Catholic faiths.

Well, their absolute downright REFUSAL to listen to anything that contradicts their beliefs.

Their assuredness they are right...even our feeble mankind "logic" can't stand up to their godliness.

Their utter hypocrisy in dealing with others, and abandoning cored FUNDAMENTAL values in favour of their skew on it all.

As far as i can tell, fundies are everywhere, (muslims, athiests, hindus, pagans, even buddhists ffs) perhaps this indicates everyone is a bit fundie, but just in a different subject, whether it be football teams, religion, or, yes, even sci fi. (anakin versus, anyone?)

7. Often resort to lying and distorting the thruth to advance their cause and see nothing wrong with this.

8. Habitual use of logical fallacies in their arquments and common refusal to see why that is not good.

9. Like to villify their opposition, for example claim that "evolutionist" are out to destroy christianity and that atheist worship the devil Etc.

10. Tendancy to advocate rather questionable morals, like homophobia and intolerance towards other religions, all the while claiming to be the very paragons of virtue.

11. Refusal to see anything wrong in the bible, dispite it's many contradictions, absurdities and hatefilled biggoted passages.

12. Prefer to see all "negatively" perceived historical figures, such as Hitler, as non-christians and all "positively" perceived historical figures, such as Einstein and many of the American founding fathers, as christians. + They will cling to there views despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I could add general ignorance and stupidity to the list, but I'm thingking that you wanted to be more specific.

Basically, excessive use of strawmen, leaps in logic, red herrings, false cause fallacies, tautologies, hypocrisy, cirgular logic, narrow-mindedness, and overall bigotry and a refusal to listen to opposing viewpoints. It's a problem shared by fundies of every faith.
