I found this on google, I warn you it is somewhat scary, very stupid. and at one point VERY sexually suggestive (With nuns too!)

TEENAGE ABORTIONS AND HOW TO STOP THEM! - By The
Cardinal.

I, The Cardinal here by decree that there is a way of stopping
teenage abortions and if only the atheist world would open itself out to God
All Mighty, the teenage baby killing rate would disappear.

There is no doubt that over the last fifty years the rate of abortion
amongst the teenage population of this evil world has rocketed up to what
would be considered unbelievable levels by our much more God fearing and
wiser ancestors.

All teenagers who get themselves pregnant and then go onto to avail
themselves of the ultimate contraception which is know as an abortion, but
as we all know is killing a baby begin by letting themselves slip into the
hands of Satan The Devil who is talking this world looking for poor un
suspecting souls to take.

If a girl begins to wear short skirts, put make up on; which is the mark of
a servant of Lucifer, and if she begins to swear, and not attend church on
Sunday; God's Day, and if she hands around with long haired bikers and gets
lifts on the backs of their motor bikes, then she is in dire peril of
loosing her soul and spending the rest of eternity in Hell being forever
tortured by hosts of fire breathing daemons, and crying out to God on high;
I am so very sorry for my sins!

If your daughter is starting to display any of the ab0ve afflictions of
Satan The Devil then let the good nuns of the Convent De Sabbo know by post
or by telephoning The Mother Superior, and within two to three years she
will be a chased and loving Christian woman.

The nuns will take her into their loving care and remove those offensive
garments from her little body, they will next wipe off all of her make up,
and then file down her long red painted nails, and the good nuns will
finally cut off her long evil hair and shave her head, eyebrows, and her
fanny to purify her for The Lord On High!

She will then be whipped soundly and then dressed in brown sack cloth and
given a pair of brown leather flat healed sandals to wear. She will also be
forceced to wear some grey woollen vest and knickers.

She will then be tutored in the ways of The Lord, and made to be a good, and
wholesome Christian wife.

She will on leaving the loving care of the good nuns be sent to live with a
God fearing Vati-Truth man who will give her ten children and this will keep
her occupied and prevent her from becoming a women's libber.

OK, so the actual post is here. Interesting. His E-mail is cardinal_el_pablo_pablo@vati-truth.com so I looked up vati-truth.com, and it does not appear to exist. Maybe he was just fucking around?

But quite frankly this sounds very much like a fundie, and for that matter a catholic fundie.

This seems like borderline between fake and real. Some of it sounds like stuff a fundie would say, but some is just too weird to be true.

I agree the E-Mail is most likley fake, but the writing seems fundie-like. Though as a side note I did google vati-truth and vatitruth and came up with no search results

If the e-mail doesn't bounce, that means it is a real e-mail address. That doesn't mean that he's a real cardinal or that he actually believes any of that stuff.

Why I think this is false:
1. The guy repeatedly refers to himself as just "The Cardinal." I don't know any Catholic cardinals, but one would expect him to use his name (ie, I, Cardinal Pablo, etc.).

2. Grammar (eg. lack of a comma following 'The Cardinal' in the first line) and spelling mistakes (such as "ab0ve" instead of "above"). While this isn't exactly damning, I think someone as important as a Cardinal would at least have his documents spell checked.

3. The name 'Pablo Pablo'

4. The weird ideas. I haven't heard of Catholics being against makeup or long hair. Mainstream Catholics certainly aren't against those things, though I suppose it could be different for fundamentalists.

I don't think thats really the Pope's purview. I'm not sure how Cardinals get chosen, but I very much doubt that the Pope just walks around and hands little chickenscratch notes to archbishops that say, "Congratulations! You're a Cardinal now!"
