Loki is the evil trickster god of the Norse. He tricked a blind god, Hod, into killing Balder. Loki also gets the gods in trouble, then back out again. The Greek Gods can't match him in terms of individual power. Ares couldn't save Troy from destruction and Athena couldn't sack the city. The Norse gods had to create the world out of a giant. YHWH created it out of nothing. That's highly efficient resource management.

And then there's the angelic hosts, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and the Archangel Michael, etc.etc.

Ahh, but he's not used to fighting other superpowers, and the only reason the Greek gods didn't interfere at Troy was divided loyalties(Unlike God, the "Ugly American" of deities). Besides, Demeter and Dionysus are some of the wimpeist gods.

I'm pretty sure the thread is supposed to be all these pantheons versus YHWH.

So, I wonder what an Apple would do to him?

No, it's which pantheon leads the charge against our "favorite" evil deity. The choice is whoever wins the fight.

Loki is also known as the Trickster; in the early myths, he was nothing more than an obnoxious prankster. (Like the time he sold Mjollnir to the Giants and convinced Thor to go and retrieve it disguised as a woman.) Later, he became malicious, eventually culminating in his tricking the blind god Hodur into killing Baldur with the dart of mistletoe.

Interesting tie-in: Loki was the inspiration (unofficially) for Q.

Not necessarily -- as mentioned, Loki is damned near the embodiment of discord. The Aesir were able to put up with his shit pretty easily until it cost a life, and then they subdued him. They've got experience with discord, is what I'm saying.

Mmmm, maybe not. Keep in mind the whole "trinity" angle. YHWH is sort of MPD himself -- the Apple very well might throw his multiple personalities into conflict. Could be very effective.

That's only because the gods were divided over the issue and ran interference against each other.

The Trinity is still a single entity. It's...complicated (and I don't understand it completely yet myself). There aren't three personalities, but more along the lines of three ways or three aspects. I'm fairly certain I'm muddling this up, and I don't have my notes or texts to read from, so I'm just going to shut up now and wait for my class on the Trinity next semester.
