Among other things, the prayer asked for deliverance "from the evil of forced religious worship now sought to be imposed upon the people ... by the actions of misguided, weak and stupid politicians, who abuse power in their own self-righteousness."

It's the same thing I've advocated for a while. Every time someone talks about religious freedom meaning the right to flaunt your religious beliefs in a public manner, ask if that includes Satanism or something else guaranteed to offend the people in charge, and then rub that freedom in their faces. One good turn, as they say, deserves another.

It's a really smart way to go about changing the system. They can't object to it if they want it to continue and they can't continue if they object. It's freaking brilliant.

I came close to reading the Pledge replacing "Under God" with "Under Satan" at school once, just to see what people's reactions would be.

Freedom means the freedom to express your beliefs while allowing other people to express theirs.

I think praying to the Force would be quite funny.

It'd be funnier to pray to Cthulhu, asking him to eat all the Christians first, or to Satan, asking him to tempt them with obscene pictures and cake.

Amen. [/pun]

I flaunt my Hedonism (not QUITE Satanism) regularly. I stand on street corners next to fundies and ask them if they've found Satan. More people respond to me than respond to those damned Christian fundie fucks.

BTW, making a new string about a similar encounter I had today. Called "Encounter with a Fundie." Sure to amuse.
