Rogue buddy, you're obviously sweet on this girl. But while this may be difficult to do, you must try to evaluate this as you would if it happened to someone else. She let you pay her way to the prom, and then she virtually ignored you all night. This means she let you pay her way even though she wasn't interested in you, because if she was interested, she wouldn't have ditched you for her friends. She strung you along and used you like a cheap pair of shoes.

You seem reluctant to acknowledge what everyone else is saying: that she's a bitch. I can understand this; you've obviously built up quite a bit of emotional stock in this. But unless she's going to the same university you are, this is never going to go anywhere and you should try to get over it. There will be other girls. She was obviously not "the one".

That really blows. I wouldn't have put up with a girl like that for more than about ten minutes.

Most women have trouble orgasming from straight vaginal sex without clitoral stimulation. It's not that surprising.

Yeah, but every guy has that girl in his life that he is first smitten over that takes him months to shake. That's just how it happens, I guess. Even if she's going to the same university as he is, I'd say just forget her. Any girl who unrepentently pulls a stunt like ditching the guy who paid your way is simply a bitch.

Speaking as someone with experience of a like situation, I would say just try to get past it. She obviously isn't the person you thought she was, and certainly isn't the person you like. You deserve someone better.

Let the bitch go.

I never went to my Senior Prom (I did go to a semi-formal or a junior prom or something where I spent the evening hanging around with a couple of other losers (homely girls) and I went alone). I didn't even want to go to it. I felt it was a waste of money and time.

College was different. The Senior Communications Banquet last May rocked, my date was a real cute blonde, and there was a lot of dancing...grind dancing ;) We weren't an item (I did feel affection for her, but dating was impossible since she had plans to go to, and is now in, Morocco!) but it was fun nonetheless. Highlights of the evening included watching my friend Joe get totally, absolutely, 100% shitfaced and cut off by BOTH bartenders. Then at the end of the evening they played the song of Evil, which is the "Save a Place for Me" song they used in the old United Negro College Fund PSAs (evil because during the course of our studies everyone heard the song at LEAST forty times!). In fact, this pic is from that evening (the bottom, not the top): http://www.daltonator.net/images/robformal.jpg As an aside, nobody recognized me at first...and two people took a long time to catch on to who I was. My friend Nick's GF felt horrible about that one :D

Rogue, college will be much better. I guarantee it. Forget about the shallow cunt who STOLE your money and screwed you. You'll never see her again, and she'll probably wind up pregnant at 21.

For the record, I didn't go to my senior prom.

Instead, I spent the day and evening in our basement family room working with Utsanomiko on our 1/100 High Grade Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Gundam Sandrock model kit.

I did go to the post-prom party, though. I had a pretty good time there.

Highschool Proms, another of those american inventions that has still to reach my country, fortunately.

Rogueice, others have said this, but I'll repeat it anyway. Highschool is no big deal. Leave it to the bully idiots who don't hold a chance of going to a good college, much less graduating from it.

College is the real thing. You'll soon find a pretty, sensible girl, mature enough to treat you honestly, and with whom you'll learn a lot. Trust us older people, we know better :)

Don't get stressed up with the first kiss or first sex thing. Once you get yourself in a serious relationship, it won't matter.

Edit: and don't think again about your "date". Nobody who does what she did to you deserves a second chance.

Thanks for all the kind words. I'll get over it. Now, the morning after, I am feeling largely better. Just a matter of time I guess.

Though, since I *do* have to see her at school Monday, well, I'm one of those infamous "nice, sweet" guys at school. So, nothing bad will probably happen, unless she is overcome with guilt.

Doubtful, but unless that happens, not much'll probably change by the time Monday morning rolls around.

Still, maybe it was the situation. When I went to the Military Ball, I danced with her twice, and got to spend far more time around her. Only downside there was she was Queen and I was not King, but I blame the voters for that one. For whatever reason, Prom was just different. *shrug*

For three-and-a-half hours, I basically sat/stood/wandered about aimlessly, all alone. Barely ever even SEEING the girl who I have fallen hard for, the girl I thought was my date, all evening.

Except at the end. When she left. And, since she left, I left.

Without even so much as a hug...

At the time we were still building the EW line, and Sandrock was the last one, IIRC.

"Fugly"? Ugh, don't use that terribly retarded word around me.

No offense, but you can't be anti-social forever. Like it or not, as you go through life, you'll have to interact with people. Just because high school is full of needless drama and utterly absurd clique mentalities doesn't mean that you can't learn something from it.

Dude, you can have a lot of fun in high school. I'm almost done, and to be honest, I'm sad to see it go. Give everyone else a chance! They may seem cliqueish, exasperating, insular, uneducated, apathetic, judgemental, and all-round ridiculous, but I assure you- they are human beings, just like you, with the same hopes and dreams (and fears!). I've yet to meet a person who I didn't find something to like about. Be friendly, think before you speak, and don't do anything to someone else you wouldn't want to happen to you, and you'll find that folks warm to you really quick. Try it, you might like it.

I went through high school without attending a single non-manditory event, including prom, mainly because I knew they were all going to suck. (And yes, according to the after-action reviews from friends and general school population, they all did suck, at least by my tastes.) But that doesn't mean I'm anti-social. I did other things with my friends that didn't suck instead.

Be social, just do your own things if you want. That's my advice.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a bitch.

My advice to you - forget about it.

Go to university, or college, whatever the hell you want to call it - and damnit man - you won't ever look back.

But in the mean time:

Next time you see her call her a dirty fucking whore, preferably infront of as many people as possible.
