I've never seen "The Wild Bunch." Is it a western?

Faram: Braindead is also known as Dead Alive in the US. Just a little FYI

Simon: I think TWB has to do with delinquents or bikers.

Bear: What about those of us who haven't seen but aren't interested in seeing it? I don't want to vote for either "Haven't seen it will rent/buy it." or "What, no porn?" because for me neither are true.

Maybe, but in the real-life Old West there was a notorious group of outlaws known as "The Wild Bunch." I guess that TWB could be about those. By the way, I have found out that it IS a Western.

The most violent movies I've seen, however, are Robocop and Starship Troopers. Eerily enough, both were directed by Paul Verhoeven....

It's sort of a Western (a gang ofoutlaws rob a border toen in 1911, and wind up working for a strong man during the mexican revolution)

it has a nice John Woo/Chow Yun-Fat type ending where everybody dies.

Wow, it's the most violent "nominee"?

And yes, I've seen the unrated version. It's a great film.

Bleh. I don't like watching violence. If I won't see "Saving Private Ryan," "The Deer Hunter," and "Platoon" because of the violence, somehow I don't think I'd do well with this movie.

You mean like in "Last Man Standing?" except in that movie the ending deviates slightly from the "everybody dies" theme, and goes for the "Bruce Willis Kills everybody" theme.

Now that is a movie that's brutal but not really more gory than your standard hollywood action fluff. Not to bad mouth the flick since's it is amoung my top 5 movies of all time list. But what makes this movie is that the shear brutality that it "does" star 15 year old kids killing each other and that fact makes it a bit harder to watch than most action movies. I only hope that one day that'll it'll be available here much more easily.
