Christianity and Judaism:Which has be more Liberalized??

As a Deist, I do think Religion does have a place in modern society as long as it is more open minded/accepting, and less dogmatic rigid and foolishly idealistic. Which Religion seems to have shown some willingness to changeor has shown growth over time.

Personally I think between the two Christianity has shown some considerable growth for a Religion that's been around for 2000 years, whereas Judaism has shown very little change. I'll comment further a little later but I just want to geta serious discussion on this matter (hopefully flame free) and without any silly wisecracks.

Some Methodists will marry homosexual couples too. There is too much diversity among these groups to make these generalizations.

True. While there are some liberal sects of Judaism, there are considerably more so with Christianity. Also many of more conservative sects of Chirstianity are confined to either the South or Oregon. I just get the idea that in the US conservatism in Judaism is what big.

It wouldn't surprise me if within 20 years the Methodist church either allows homosexual ministers or splits along those lines into two separate churches, one allowing it and the other not allowing. The Council keeps voting on it every few years, and it keeps getting closer and closer.

True, but the majority of jews are reform or conservative, but do no deny the existence of jews other than themselves. It's more than a religion, to many it is an ethnicity. There are a lot fewer sects which say that they are the only true jews, most hasids aren't this bad.

It is very hard to gauge at any rate as with some 20million jews in existence, and 1.2 billion christians or so.

Well... in theological terms, bear in mind that the official policy of Judaism is that all righteous people have a place in the kingdom of heaven and you do not have to be Jewish to get there. Most, but not necessarily all, Christian churches insist that you must be Christian (ie, accept Jesus as savior) in order to be allowed in.

Reform and Conservative Jews in the US generally tend towards left-leaning centrist points of view; there is more of a tendency towards Democrats than Republicans.

Both religions have their rights and lefts. Fundamentalist Christians are no worse, in essence, than Hasidic Jews. Both have been reputed to marry gay couples, though I have yet to see a Christian priest/minister/whatnot baptize a baby born to lesbian parents or adopted by a gay couple. Such cases exist, I'm sure, but I don't know of any offhand.

I abstain from voting. Neither is worse.
