My Real Life Style vs. Substance fallacy

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

Ok, the Administrative management decided that the cashier/bar area looked awful with it's ugly black mats that smelled, and that was contibuting to the economic slowdown in the area I work at. They also told me that they didn't want me leaving rags on the floor, as that makes us look bad. (We have leaks in the pipes on the bar & soda drains, the rags are there to soak up and be replaced). So they replaced the mats with a brand new tile floor and did nothing to repair the ducttaped out of sight leaking pipes, like I asked them too.

To make a long story short, I'm one arming it again, hopped up on painkillers, after slipping on leaking beer & leaking roof (Snow/Rain last 5 days), on a nice pretty, white tile floor (WHo the FUCK thought of putting a smooth tile floor in a fucking BAR!!!, it's going to have beer spilled on it no matter WHAT!)

So while I am hurting on my day off, and prepping my workman's comp case, please give me some advise, and is it possible for the blame to be sent where it belongs, rather then on my immediate manager, who was as pissed off as me when they did this?

Good luck, Y. Bear. That is one ridiculous scenario, I don't know if I could put up with it! Cosmetics over maintenance? Idiots.

I feel your pain Y.Bear *snarls at AMC theater with its damn tiled floors, behind the counter where it's covered in a wonderful mix of water from melted ice, spilled oil for the popcorn machines, ice cubes, and ICEE slush*

Hmm there seems to be a trend. When I worked at a coffee place we also had tile behind the counter.

Go for the worker's compensation. The Powers That Be ignored your requests that would increase actual safety an indeed excaberated it.

Go for at least workman's compensation. That's a clear cut case. You told them it was dangerous and they ignored you. It's a result of their own actions and you've got a good case.

Like I said on IM, if that isn't a clear-cut, text-book workers comp case, then I don't know what is.

I am beginning to hate rodent-boy....

He also sat on my insurance application when I turned it in as part of the change of insurance groups. (So where am I supposed to get the $570.00 that my meds cost a month?

Start complaining loudly to those that will listen about the utter incompetence of your workplace.

Do you have it in writting that you asked for the maintinance? Heresay doesn't count for much in a libal case. When i worked in a Solictors i saw several cases reduced to simple accidents in the work place because there was a lack of evidence.
