Anyway, Manji must work for Popular Mechanics. They had this... THING on their cover a while back... It was five ships, each much larger than a Nimitz. They would sail out to a rendezvous point, and merge like Voltron, into this gigantic floating fortress. You could supposedly land B-52's on this thing's deck, and it held thousands of troops. Someone in the Navy is apparently at least mulling this idea over.

But who says it will be humanly possible to reach that technology base? But, if we do manage to get a mile-long battleship into sea without it sinking, or get a football-field sized tank to budge, or even get a mile-long blimp to get an inch off of the ground, then it's a good sign, and a reflection on how much money we wasted that could have been spent on hundreds of smaller ships and tanks.
