What 40K army do you play?

Post by Brother-Captain Gaius »

For the core game, Gothic, or whatever, what's your biggest/favorite army?

I think you can tell mine by my avatar.

I play Iyanden Craftworld Eldar. I own 3 Wraithlordds, one with a Bright Lance, and two with Starcannon. I haven't played in a long time, though, as all my friends who played WH40k have left for college.

And damn, I hate Imperial Guard >:(

Long ago...when I had the time...I used the Dark Eldar or Tyrannids.

Nowadays...they just gather dust sadly

Eldar (used to have a massive rogue trader army) - LOTS OF HARLEQUINS! ON JETBIKES!

Now I'm building a 40K marine army based off the "1st of the 9th" from Apocalypse Now.

Currently running Space Wolves. I'll probably start fleshing out some Dark Eldar when I get the Space Puppies finished.

Back in the day (previous edition of 40K), I was a Chaos man through and through. I don't have the money or time to invest in playing anymore, although I like the new rules quite a bit.

When I played I had an Space Marine unit. Now sadly a thing of the past after my fellow players and I got different Postings. We played house rules and the ordinary rules were just too shit to continue with. Still at least i have those happy days.

I had Dark Angels for 40K. Though I changed them quite a bit to fit what I wanted. Still started as Dark Angels though.

I don't play, but I would play Imperial Guard. They're the most modular.
The revolution is successful, but survival depends on drastic measures. Your continued existence represents a threat to the well-being of society. Your lives means slow death to the more valued members of the colony. Therefore I have no alternative but to sentence you to death. Your execution is so ordered.

We had a special scenario for gangs that got like that.

Remember how much damage a single rogue spacemarine could do to a gang?

Thats right kiddies - its a Space Marine Cleansing Squad!

A Rhino (or if the gang is truly psychotic - a razorback) with a fully kitted tactical squad in the back.

Space Marines get first turn and the game lasts three turns, after which it is assumed that the marines pull out, having usually butt-fucked the gang into oblivion.

They tried tyranids and chaos marines on my gang....it did very little....my leader was a killing machine.....my luck was uncanny as usual.....

When I say arbites....I mean 3 squads using grenade launchers and a judge leading them....it was part of a massed game, but I was thier target....fortunately I tricked a goliath gang into getting in the way....then sniped them to bits from cover.
