Even Al Jazeera won't air PETA commercials

Post by Kelly Antilles »

I heard on the radio this morning that PETA was trying to get Al Jazeera to run their commercials showing slaughtered animals. Guess what? They refused.

They can show bloodied bodies, but won't show slaughtered animals. That's just a riot.

What's wrong with showing bloodied bodies?

Al Jazeera probably refused because they are against PETA's politics, rather than any compunctions about dead animal bodies.

Perhaps I should clarify more... my brain is not functioning fully.

PETA said "you can show bloody bodies, show our commercials."

AJ sees commercials which include slaughtered animals. They say "no fucking way."

Is that what the report said? If AJ said that was the reason, I would find that quite amusing.

My wording on the newscast. I'll have to try and find a link somewhere.

That or Al Jazeera knows a bunch of blithering morons when they see them, and figured that it would make them look worse than they already do in the eyes of many.

Funny, blithering idiocy never stopped them before.

The animals must not be "infidel pigs" or something.

Heh. Another setback for the PETA. Tough for them.

Probably because for all its failings, Arab culture is at least smart enough to realize that there's no moral equivilancy between humans and animals.

Not to mention, a lot of Al-Jazeera's viewership lives in places where PEOPLE are dying at regular intervals and the ones that are still alive are wallowing in Medieval shitholes, so they really don't give a fuck about dolphins and dogs and goddamn bees. Only fat and rich cultures can afford to be stupid enough to support a group like PETA.
