Best commerical ever

Post by HemlockGrey »

I'll try and find a link...but basically, it's a rainy city. A guy throws a lamp out of a window.

You see the lamp, there in the rain, looking rather forlorn, as people walk by.

Then comes a guy with a thick Swedish accent and says:

"WHY DO YOU FEEL SORRY FOR THE LAMP? It has no feelings! You are crazy!"

My favorite commercial was the Wendys commercial with that little old lady, "Where's the beef?!"

The really old miller lite commercial, where the two guys are watching a kung-fu movie, go I think we can do better than that, slam their bottles on the table, and are transported into the film:

Chinese guy: Fools! We Will Defeat You! And Take Your Miller Lite!

Beer-Drinker: Not if We Choose the Weapon!

Chinese guy: Paper Football! Very Clever! You kick off!

and it goes from there.
I just have never lost my love of the line: "Fools! We Will Defeat You! And Take Your Miller Lite!"

Probably the Icehouse commercial where the camera pans in over the faces of several catfish moving their mouths and makes it look like they're repeating "Icehouse, Icehouse, Icehouse, Icehouse." Bizarre stuff.

Yeah, that one's great. It's for IKEA *shudder*, and it's directed by Spike Jonze (YAY!)
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Not a commercial per se, but the little "no cellphones" tag where a dude's cellphone rings, he starts talking and an ejector seat propels him into the screen

I think its a Canadian commercial for some sort of fish product.

A Grizzly bear catches a salmon out of a river and some fisherman comes charging out of nowhere and tackles the bear. They proceed to have a kung fu fight and the fisherman eventually wins by kicking the bear in the nutz.

Its shot from a ways off and looks totally believale which is why I laughed so hard.

Youve probably all seen it, it made the rounds on the internet a while back.

I think this might be a regional thing, but here in Sydney, Australia, it's Pepsi Max.

My curent favorite goes something like this:

Grandpa type talking in phone:

"... can I talk to your mom, please?
She's not home?
She forgot her wallet? Let's hope no one steals it then.
You're home alone then?
Oh, you got a visitor? Who? A real policeman?"

Grandpa's face suddenly turns grim.

Fade out.

Voice over: "Every day somebody's life is changed due to reckless driving...
That's why we have speed traps."

Signed: The Danish Police.

It's so morbid that it's fun...

That one is great. The bear looks totally real until they start to fight. The bear even gets a spin kick in. Then the guy suckers him by pointing and saying, "look a ....." then he kicks the bear in the nuts. :D

My favorite commercial is for Nissan.

It has GI Joe come to life and take off driving a toy 300ZX while Van Halen's cover of You Really Got Me is playing.

He shows up with the car at Barbie's place and she ditches Ken to go ride with Joe. As the song says, "Oh no" you see Ken with the shocked and sad look on his face.

:D

The oooold 3dFX ad.

"We have in our possession, a chip. That can perfrom 100 billion operations per second. Giving us the power to heal across continents. To touch more lives... etc etc etc.

But then we thought. Hey - lets use it for games *cut to shots of all the people in hospitals etc dying*..."

Funny as hell.

There was one Japanese commercial involving Arnold Schwarzzeneger. He and a few other Japanese men are playing scrabble and apparently he puts down a controversial word. He goes off to some corner, thinks about what to do, then suddenly (light bulb) whips out a can of Bwain (the drink).

I haven't watched the video myself, but from what I can tell from the screenshots, absolute crazyness ensues.

Really weird commercial. Has Arnold going "BWAIN!!!!" with twinkling eyes and whatnot. Must find that video.

I remember a beer commercial from the early 80s that traumatized me- it had Joe Piscopo accidentally tear a guy's arm off.
