First and for most the Star Destroyer's are not 1600 meters long they are longer then that they are over a mile long.

So there is good comparison. So you Star destroyer shield would not be much of a problem specially science they are only good against energy based attacks not missile attacks. The next is the ion cannon shot that took out the enterprise in one shot. The ship is protected against ions or every time an ion storm came up the ship would be in allot of trouble.

And then there is Mr. Data he is as well protected against Ion surges for the same reason.

Well, I guess that makes the Enterprise immune to ions of any concentration, if Data claims to be "well protected" against ion surges.
