They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

*puts starts to put everyone who didn't mention him on his Richard Nixon style enemies list* Hrm... maybe it's because I don't post here very often... oh well. *finishes the list*
Anyway, I think my favorite poster is phongn, cause he likes expensive technologically impractical strategic space weapons as much as I do, reads the same webcomics as I do, shares much of the same taste in anime and sci-fi that I do and is much more informative than I am. In other words, he's the Man.
Honorable mentions go to Marina, cause she's so damn fun to irritate into a fury but takes it in decent stride. Even if she thinks I'm so painfully liberal and probably has uttered poisonous things about me in the past.
Alyeska, for the same reason as Marina, except I know he's uttered poisonous things about me in the past.
Admiral Valdemar, cause he's so damn cool. And likes pie.
SPOOFE. He's a god, what can I say?

I love all of you!!!
Well, that's probably an exaggeration, but the board is a bit like an ecosystem. Strong debaters, weak debaters, jokers, idealogues, story-tellers, chatters, and even trolls all have a part to play. In other words, we have majestic lions, plodding elephants, graceful cheetahs, laughing hyenas, beautiful birds, and of course, goddamned maggots
