Well, that's probably an exaggeration, but the board is a bit like an ecosystem. Strong debaters, weak debaters, jokers, idealogues, story-tellers, chatters, and even trolls all have a part to play. In other words, we have majestic lions, plodding elephants, graceful cheetahs, laughing hyenas, beautiful birds, and of course, goddamned maggots :)
*Gives Darth Wong a big kiss on the mouth* I love you too :D

Seriously though, where do I fall in all of this? (I still sound like Durandal :P)

Well, my friend, we will have a pretty good idea when we hear how loudly Darth Mike protests about that big wet one you just planted on him!

If he doesn't make a big fuss, he still loves ya. No worries. If he does, well...you can pretty much forget about getting any pats on the back about your posting greatness from him :)

My list of favorite posters is way too long to start right now but you're one of them. So there ;)

Spanky's debating style is like his fighting style. He only has three moves:
1)Forceful Grab
2)Shove to the Ground
3)Stomp

He might not always pull it off correctly, or on the right targets, but every now and then when some moron gets caught in all three steps, something cracks hard, they emit a loud squeak, and the whole thing's hilarious to watch. :D

Oh, and DPDarkPrimus is definitely on my list of kickass members. I've learned it's just better not to argue with him; cause he's usually right, or can just convince you he is. :P

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

*gasp* No one mentioned me? My ego is shattered! Then again I hardly ever post but I'm... me dammit :P

Here's my short list (very favorite posters) in no particular order:
Darth Wong - I mean, c'mon, he's the Wonginator.
Durandal - Good debator, good sense of humor, rarely disagree with him.
Vympel - Ditto.
Coyote - We may have flung some insults during that I/P debate, but I must say I have a lot of respect for you after that argument.
Sheppard - May not agree with a single word you say, but your rants are priceless :D
Dalton - Maintainer of the fanfic archive. I mean, that's not technically related to SD.net, but still...
Stravo - Starcrossed is simply awesome.

Ah, let's see.

Well, first of all, I have a sort of kinship with all of the old ASVS veterans here. We may disagree, and harshly at times, but we are "from the same town", so to speak, and I suspect we'll always be friends and always stick together where and when it counts.

Actually - I think we should create an ASVS Veterans Association on SD.net. Anyone like that idea?

But to continue..

Well, the other members of the Sisterhood, of course.

And then we have a few new people I've met here who have simply impressed me or become my friend or the like:

Coyote, firstly, whom I account as a very good friend now.

Edi, whom I respect for his ability in carrying his opinion, for the defence of his country's honour, and who's poetry I have greatly enjoyed reading.

Patrick Ogaard is quite intelligent and a good poster and I wish he'd post more.

Gil Hamilton I know from spacebattles; I can return the compliment here by saying he's actually an amusing and rather intelligent individual and not unworthy of compliment.

Well, I could go on and on. Those are the groups and names that came to mind now, at any rate - Perhaps I'll update this list in a moment, even. Needless to say I get along with almost all of you and it is a very small lot indeed that I have low opinions of.

EDIT: Adding Spanky. I knew I forgot someone - Garh! Many apologies about that. Definitely not intended nor should anything be read from it, really..

*Prepares DDT/Agent Orange cocktail for introduction into the SD.net water table and atmosphere*

As for my own choices, the list would likely run to 200+, even people who have opinions I always hate would likely make it on. Boards on which everyone agrees or is constructive get boring pretty fast. Plus I'm just lazy, making a list takes too much thinking and I'd end up editing it 50 times.

But a WHAT fetus? A human fetus? A snake fetus? A zebra fetus? A lion fetus? So long as the creature carrying you can kick ass, that's all that matters.

Sticking to the jungle analogy, here's my short cast list:

Wong: Lion (of course)
Dalton: Rhino (sort of the ultimate bouncer)
Master of Ossus: Leopard (suave and subtle, sitting on a tree branch knawing on the carcass of Darkstar - at least the half that Wong let him have)
Bean: Baboon (wise and brilliant, and just a little eccentric)
Yosemite Bear: Umm ... gee, that's a tough one
