I completely agree. Even more, I don't need someone else telling me what they think I shouldn't listen to. That article is perhaps the most pretentious, egotistical review I've ever read (and I've read movie reviews by Medved!).

Furthermore, I don't have any of those albums.

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine
Since you've updated your collection with Marilyn Manson albums, are you really going to pull this one out? And if so, are you also going to put onyour sister's old black tights that you ripped full of holes just to wear to the concert back in 1995? Probably not, because by the time the second song is over, you will be ill with memories of Doc Martens and bad dye jobs.
HEATHENS!!! I WILL NEVER PART WITH MY |\|I|/|!!!

Or my copy of Quake 1...
Rush - Moving Pictures
If it looks like prog rock and smells like prog rock, it's prog rock. This is not, I repeat, NOT a viable alternative to Yes, E.L.P., and all the other wankers from that bloated 70s scene. Is there anything more grating than Geddy Lee's shrill vocals? Add the smug instrumental chops, and you've got an unfortunate cultural phenomenon that still seems to be going strong.
Hmm and they insult the Rush G0dz, too. Figures.

Yes, I'm a Goth Geek. At least I like Type O Negative too.

For some reason, that site won't load completely within my two minute patience span. Perhaps it's for the best.
Any drooling moron that places Dark Side of the Moon on a list of albums to get rid of should take the time to commit suicide before cleaning the latest mess from his trousers. I've read the few "critiques" posted in this thread, and I'm pretty fucking shocked at his(it's) stupidity. Perhaps he'll wake up from his latest Pixies wet dream and off himself. What the fuck does he think we should be listening to, anyway?

Gah, Ein was able to leap to the defense of NIN before I was. Bastard.

The Beatles and Nirvana can piss off, but Pretty Hate Machine was a goddamn great album. This list is just some wanker try to show that he's too damned cool for everything.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! I have 3 of the albums on that list. I'm keeping them, even though I don't listen to them that much.

Rancid - And Out Come The Wolves
Don't let the mohawks and combat boots fool you, kids - these chumps are the Black Crowes of "punk," aided and abetted by the loathsome Epitaph label. Buy The Specials and The Clash and give this CD a good old-fashioned curb-stomping.
AAAAAAAAAARGH!!! smite him!

honestly, how can you compare a mediocre second generation ska band like the specials to a punk band like rancid?

I have NIN's "Pretty Hate Machine," and I happen to like Tori Amos (it will be in the shared album collection of mine and Rob's cos he's got all the Tori Amos music), No Doubt music rocks, I'm not sure if that's the Green Day CD with one of my songs on it, Pink Floyd rocks in all aspects, they disgraced the Beatles, TPotUSA's "TPotUSA" is an AWESOME CD, and other things I like are on there.. but that one above is the only CD I have in my possession.. bah.. headache.. shower... bed...

I think a lot of the ablums on there are pretty good but most are likewise majorly overrated. Good for him in calling it.

When a person like this asshat condems great music liek this i always way "Well if your so quick to judge where is your CD so i can laught at it". Oasis - Whats The Story (Morning Glory)

Durran Korr wrote:He does have a point. I absolutely adore U2, but they can come off as being a bit pretentious and preachy, and this is Joshua Tree's only flaw. Achtung Baby, now there is a ass-kicking rock and roll album with none of the J. Tree's pretentiousness.
Yeah. Re-examining the issues with the darker tone was great. Just listen to The End of the World. He seems a little bitter about other bands being successfull too. It should be a crime to put Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness on a list like that. Never heard another album with such variety and richness. Where else would you find stuff like Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Tonight, Tonight, 1979, Bodies, Lily (My One and Only) in the one place?. Though Siamese Twins was a better album. Mayonnaise, Disarm, Today, etc. ruled.

He went after 13 of my albums, quite a few of them firm favourites. Half surprised he didn't go after Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' seeing as I've never heard a bad review of it. Maybe even he's afraid to touch it :^)

Doesn't he also criticise the clash earlier though?

And anyone who disses Chemical Brothers Dig your Own Hole, and Prodigy, should be righteously smited, and why wasn't "Iowa" on there? That album was a mediocre attempt at thrash metal.

Thank god they didn't put Fear Factory's Onsolete on there....that wouldve pissed me off beyond recognition.
