I have with me at college an NRSV with annotations and the HarperCollins' Bible Dictionary. I'm going to need a copy of the Apocrypha next year, and probably the Harvard or Yale translation of the Scrolls of Qumran the year after. At home there's an NIV, KJV, and a Children's Bible I got when I was six and have never read.

And the Skeptics' is OK against lieralists, but they don't take into account that not all of the Bible can be taken literally. Plus, some of their "problems" I've scratched my head over trying to figure out what they were talking about. *shrug* Still fun to look at.

About Psalms: Don't try to figure out when they were all written, even Hebrew scholars and archaeologists haven't a clue. They date everywhen from about 1500 BCE to the post-Exilic Jerusalem in ~500 BCE to possibly the fall of the Temple in 70 CE. There's at least 1000 and possibly 1600 years of literature in that book.

I have a pocket version of the King James New Testament. Some guy was handing them out at school, so I took one.

Yes, I have the Bible I was given as a Graduation present by one of my godmothers. King James , of course, with little bookmarks and highlighted passages from when I actually read it.

I also have a copy of "The Illustrious Qur'an: Being an English Translation of the Holy Qur'an by Allama Abdullah Yusuf Ali". Very interesting reading, especially since I find it as florid as the King James. :)

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Yes, I own a couple.

Why? Seeing as though I am Christian, it is somewhat self explanatory. :D

I got one from the school or a hotel many years ago, it's sitting in a storage box somewhere in my basement along with my old magazines and stuff. My mom has copies of some Buddhist text but they're in chinese so I can't read them or know exactly what they are.

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

I have four bibles sitting on my bookshelf. All of them given to me (two for confirmation, one for finishing primary school and one gideon's). I have no idea how many my dad has, but it is quite a few including a greek version and a hebrew version. Given that he is a priest it is not suprise he has lots of bibles.

I've got the Hebrew-English Torah, a NIV Christian Bible, and a Qur'An. I also have several support books about Jewish and Islamic traditions, beliefs, rituals, philosophies, etc. I studied in an Orthodox yeshiva (religious school) in Israel and academic courses at a University about Islam...

Why?

I'm Jewish so that explains that stuff. Islam fascinates me, the two religions are closely related. And I learn a lot of Christianity by living in a Christian culture. Religions and beliefs in general fascinate me, and while I am connected to my Jewish life I am not sure how much of the Bible I believe. It is just interesting stuff, and these are the playbooks of millions worldwide, so it is worth understanding.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
