What a great movie. One of the interesting things was that the comic relief (Ruby Rod) was actually funny to an extent. He's sooooo green too!

I loved the movie.
It's one of the few movies...I just somewhat zone and not really care...and the Zorg X-1 is a fantastic piece of pointless overkill.

Pointless overkill? I understand the words, but not the phrase. I don't think there is such a thing.Ghost Rider wrote:I loved the movie.

It was Christ Tucker. The guy from Demolition Man was Wesley Snipes.Darth Yoshi wrote:No, I think that was Chris Tucker.Enforcer Talen wrote:the dj? I'll take an ATN standard issue SHAKK any time. Nothing like hypersonic ke goodness to pureé enemy brains. Two thousand rounds, fits snuggly in shoulderholster, selfmanufactures ammo, and has three settings: Semi Auto, Auto, and Hex pattern. Semi for basic ops, auto to kill small armies in a matter of minutes and hex for taking down large steel objects such as reinforced doors and bombers.Gil Hamilton wrote:I LOVE the Fifth Element.
"The ZF1! It's light, handles adjustable for easy carrying. Good for both righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray. Ideal for quick, discreet interventions. A word on firepower. Titanium recharger. 3,000 round clip with bursts of 3 to 300. With a replay button, another Zorg invention, its even easier. One shot and replay sends every following shot to the same location. And to finish the job, all Zorg oldies but goldies. Rocket launcher. Arrow launcher with explosive or poisonous gas heads. Our famous net launcher. The always efficient flame thrower... my favorite. And for the grand finale, the all new ice cube system."
Yes, I have that commited to memory. Zorg is the greatest.
The 5th Element is one of thes rare movies that loses little of its enjoyment factor despite repeat viewings, mostly due to the amazing Gary Oldman. Oldman I recently discovered will be playing "Sirius Black" in Harry Potter and the Prisioner of Azkaban, Potter fans may now feel free to geek.
Anyway, one of the things I think is great is that I've watched this movie like a dozen times, and I keep picking out something new or something this I missed on previous viewings, the movie is just that dense with detail.

It was originally a story written by Besson many years ago, then adapted for film. As far as I know, there's only the one version of the book.Sokar wrote: There's a book? Is it an adaptation of the screenplay or an original work?
I was under the impression that the whole thing was the product of the imagination of Luc Besson?

Only one word is required to sum up the 5th Element...
A-A-A-A-Auto-W-W-W-W-Wash!!!!
While not the StarWars of the 90's it was toted as, it was a brilliant movie with action, COMEDY, and a fun atmosphere that will endear it to my heart forever...
Yeah, thats right, FOREVER......

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Really? I read the book, and though I love Oldman (he is very versitile) I really don't see him as Black. I can see Bruce as Black but not Oldman.

I can definately see it, if he hair is grown out some, like when he was cast as Dracula, only without the moustache. He'd be an even better Lupin though, in my opinion, but I can see him as Sirius.Knife wrote:Really? I read the book, and though I love Oldman (he is very versitile) I really don't see him as Black. Nah, maybe Tom (the rat guy, perhaps I am forgeting the name) or the guest starring professor of the 3rd Book, forgot his name too.Gil Hamilton wrote:I can definately see it, if he hair is grown out some, like when he was cast as Dracula, only without the moustache. The crazy guy with the magic eye? Thats the one I am thinking of. Oldman would do wonders with that role, have you ever seen 'True Romance', about the same mind set as his role in that one.Gil Hamilton wrote:THe guest professor in the third book was Lupin.Knife wrote:Nah, maybe Tom (the rat guy, perhaps I am forgeting the name) or the guest starring professor of the 3rd Book, forgot his name too.
