I love life, and I don't like the idea of it ending. However, I don't think you should sell yourself a lie just because it makes you happy, and the evidence against immaterial persistence of thought is overwhelming.

There isn't an afterlife. If I have to pretend, I think what I'd like best is to become omniscient, and know at once everything, past, present, and future. Sitting around in heaven watching shit happen FOR FUCKING EVER would suck to no end (literally). But if you became omniscient instantly, and stopped perceiving time the way you do in life, boredom would have no meaning to you.
Of course, even that is pretty weird. Really I guess I hope it just ends. There's the tendency to feel like you'd be missing out on stuff, but if it really ends entirely, you can't possibly be missing out on anything, because with death, you will cease caring about life.

Eh. I don't like to say I believe in "life" after death, since that phrase is contradictory. Rather, consciousness after death. Funny thing is, I don't find "hope" or anything from it. It feels like it's just one of those things that happens...I would like to have nothing more than the Big Dirt Nap. Either way, I don't mind death. Instinctively I'll fear it when it comes for me, but it's a part of life and it will come for us all.

I believe in reincarnation, even though it's not for me (at least this time around). I'm fascinated with the idea of preserving my intellect; I seek the opposite of Buddhism and the other mainstream religions: individualism rather than merging and dissolution of consciousness (i.e., "One with God, Nirvana.") That's the receipe for immortality, my friends.

Why do people keep posting topics and issues that have already been talked about in exhaustive detail elsewhere on the board? I swear there's a "Religion: Good or Bad?" thread on here every week. The board could be much less cluttered if we would simply look back to older threads and post on them, bringing them back to the forefront.

I think the afterlife is what you make of it =/ Your idea of what its gonna be ilke for you before you die. If you think you're going to hell, your minds eye will send you to hell, ect....
