I'm guessing because it doesn't have as big a name as either of the two mention.

Though it seems odd given the amount of sales Diablo 2 made...I guess I'll file this one under 'who knows?'.

Seriously. Diablo II had BIGTIME sales, especially for a computer game. Maybe they don't see it, because they think computers are evil, or something.

I'm astounded even more so given the content...I mean both showed a demonic cover.

True, but using a Buriza as a melee weapon is cool...

I've tried to bring up this idea before (SD.net Diablo II LOD play), but it didn't get much attention.

I'm still up for it. I'm on US East. If I can convince my roomate to get back into it again, I can probably provide us with omni-leet equip too. He's got insane MF.

I stopped playing years ago. Having a ping of +600 isnt fun, but I've since moved house & got a better internet connection so it might have improved.

That reminds me of a friend I had. Had the self-proclaimed nickname "King of Lag". He played as a Necro, and ever since starting Hell difficulty, would lag constantly. He would freeze for minutes at a time, and never die. It was absolutely hilarious.

Don't if this is the case for your friend, but Necros have been known to cause lag especially if they have got dozens of minions.

I've given up on playing D2 online. It's all about rushing and cowing these days. Then there are the hacks, dupes and bots. Currently waiting for patch 1.10, and then I'll see if things improve.

Back when Diablo 1 was out, I sometimes got 10s lag to the bnet server. This was when I took the hint and didnt play online.

And before they added the cast delay, a sorc could pump out a LOT of Frozen Orbs (I think they have been nerfed several times now) very quickly

There is a delay between casting times, but the damage is supposed to be a little higher. So they say. I'm not sure about that as I hardly play the spell casting characters.

That's just eh saying yeah(10-20= more damage) more damage.

Then again the real hitters are the Firewall and the Spark spells.

Ah the damage a fully realized firewall does is just simply astounding(even after it was pulled into only the high thousands...used to be 10's of thousands)

The problem with firewall is just that....it's a wall. I always found it hard to control.

My USEast lvl 73 (or something like that...haven't played her in a long time) sorc had firewall maxed, but I could never master it and use it properly. Frozen orb....now that was cool. I remember all those orb-sorcs, including mine, freezing hell cows to....well, hell. :D

Then those nova sorcs came along..and it was too late for my sorc to pump enough skills into nova and lightning mastery.

So I started an amazon. She's a fairly successfull lvl 83 amazon, with a buriza that someone once kindly traded me for a few items that didn't equate its value. But MY ITEMS ARE CRAP. :( With only 300% MF I could never find anything good. Anyone care to donate a good spare +mf item(s)? I never hacked, so I have no ith items or 5x10^32 sojs. In fact, I have no sojs. I only had ONE in my entire battlenet career.

I agree about the firewall thing. I don't have very much good sorc stuff, so my sorcs are on hold indefiniately...

300% MF is good enough to get some good stuff. Take your burizon MF against NM mephisto. I've managed to get 3 sojs, one of which I found myself, by running NM Meph.

Mostly I used it with the helper...effective and rips chunks.

Yeah it only sat there but seriously could get some damage easily in terms on some levels. For me it was just a matter of positioning much of the time.

Though for real scraps I liked my Pally.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I had those gloves once, they were my precioussss. :D

Unfortunately, I borrowed them to a friend about 3 days before he and over one hundred thousand other accounts got wiped from battlenet for hacking/duping/botting and such. (My accounts are still here, though)

It was a sad day when I realized my preciousss gloves were on his account. :(

I'm not sure why you think that charged bolt is good, but frozen orb isn't. Adding 10-20 damage to frozen orb adds 10-20 damage to each and every single shard that hits the target. That's a huge amount if you can aim at all.

As for pure damage per time, go for nova, as with a properly developed tweaker sorc you can cast it at the fastest possible rate and never run out of mana. You can get surrounded all you want because as long as they aren't lightning immune or LEB's they will drop like flies.
"I have also a paper afloat, with an electromagnetic theory of light, which, till I am convinced to the contrary, I hold to be great guns."

Or like cows.

Charged bolt is THE tweaker spell. Since it is also non-timed and adding levels to it increases both damage and number of the bolts, at very high levels (~40 and beyond) it becomes most lethal spell in game dealing something like 10000 per shot to mobs. And unlike using nova you dont have to teleport middle of the hordes to be effective.

If you want to see charged bolt being insane, load up a character editor, and get level 99 charged bolt and lightning mastery. Solid wave of death. Only works in single player though.

I did that once....that was funny as hell. Reminded me of hacked D1 Sorcerer with ubered out Chain lightning.

And yeah Charged bolt is better mostly because my aim just has to be in front veres that damn spinning ball. and beside Firewall supplments most of is...and the I use the Frozen Orb on the few that are immune to both.
