Well, first post again. Hah.

OK, this time I have a nitpick: Oberths, as described in ST4, are too small to have proper shuttlebays. They are only 120 meters long at a maximum.

And why weren't the phase-cloaked ships simply called by their Japanese name?

SECOND!

Great chapter Stravo, loved what you did with Vader, loved all the memorable lines "Intensify forward fire power!" "The power of ____ is nothing compared to the power of the force."

Loved the fight as well, very very well done. Can't wait to see if the Shadow Fleet makes it out of this one.

Awesome...loved how you used Vader(the bit about his anger against Luke and yet his love for him...and that being the focus of what he used) As well as his thoughts to killing Thrawn.

Liked how you instituted various federation uber tech as well as the ending.

Keep it coming. :D

These are modified Oberths, and well it just sounds cool.

As to the names, its a treat for those who know what the word means.

Hehe. Wild Weasel. I like that. :-) Good chapter, Stravo. I can't wait to see the transphasic torpedos fail miserably.
I had a Bill Maher quote here. But fuck him for his white privelegy "joke".

All the rest? Too long.

Iron Fist the Victory.

Iron Fist wasn't rechristened by Zsinj until he went Warlord, IIRC.

Nope, NEGC says he christened it Iron fist and ruled for several years; then says that the Emperor died and he went warlord. Brawl was renammed first.

I'm fine with it being the Vic though. Means my favorite villian isn't dead yet.

Hmmm...the Grapple. That's a good name for an Interdictor. :D

It's nice to see Piett in action, Strav. Now he, Jerjerrod, and Thrawn seem to be acting as a better team than earlier.

Wow. Excellent chapter, Stravo.

This one was VERY good, Stravo. Few minor nitpicks, though:

1) Wild Weasel is a name for sam-hunting operations. Of course, the Shadow Fleet can simply use the term for something else (it is the 24th century after all ;) )

2) Couldn't imperial ships use their tractor beams against phase-cloaked vessels? They still generate gravity and are influenced by it, as far as I remember.

Zsinj was give then SSD Brawler as his command as a reward for interdicting the planet Dathomir. He then rechristend Iron Fist in honour of his first command, an aging VSD.

Vader taking out the capship by himself, FUCKING AWESOME. Of course it does use UFP technology so he could have just sneeed in the ships general direction rather than use the force.

I dont know about tractors usefullness angainst phase cloaked ships but since SW sensors can detect gravity and mass as seen in NJO several times, shouldnt the Imperials have detected the phase cloaked ships?

An excellent chapter once again, decided to play some theatrical music while reading it allways makes the reading experience better, especially when there are grand battles in the chapter :D

Regarding ship names your humble author must admit that as he is a complete ignoramous in regards to the EU after the Jedi Academy and Darksaber books I have no clue about ship names and what they could mean. Frankly I pull most of them out of my ass and if they sound appropriately Imperial they're slapped on a ship. But the Iron Fist was most certainly NOT an SSD. The only SSD's in this story are the Emperor's Will and the Executor. It being a Victory is fine by me, since I wanted them to suffer some casualties from a bigger class ship so without knowing it, it worked out for me. Perhaps I should have pretended to be a genius and say OF COURSE I meant the Victory class fools...but thats just not in me. :D

In regard to the phase cloaks, they were not detected at first because they are cloaks as well, they approached invisibly then dropped the invisible portion of their cloak to sow some fear and confusion among the Imperials. Although having ships explode myseriously might have been even cooler it was not as dramatic as showing why they were exploding so here we have a compromise between reality and drama that every story must face.

Wild Weasel just sounds too cool so I used it.

Piett and Thrawn are starting to gel. Jerjerrod is not as quick on his feet for the simple reason that he's having....problems right now

Awesome chapter, Stravo! One request, though...

On all that is mighty and holy, for all the planets and moons, for all the tea in China, for all the mercy upon the stars, for all the goodness in our hearts, for all the wrongs that have been made right, for all the dreams that have come true, for all the goodness that has come about...PLEASE, do NOT kill Thrawn! Have him emerge victorious at the end of this magnificent epic! I assure you, millions of lives will improve when you do that. :D
