THE AUDI!
The true story it's based on is probably the collapse of that bridge. The rest of the movie's fabricated around that one event.

Seeing as I had read all about the Mothman incidents about eight years ago, I knew it was all unconfirmed shit reported only by teenagers and eldery people. So already I was pretty sure the movie would suck ass. The clincher though, was when I saw an article interviewing the director about the movie. See, in real life, 40 people had died in the bridge accident. However, the studio thought that 40 people was "too many". So how did this genius director come up with a better number of people to die? He used his old high-school football jersey number.

I don't see much of a huge difference between 36 and 40.DPDarkPrimus wrote:Seeing as I had read all about the Mothman incidents about eight years ago, I knew it was all unconfirmed shit reported only by teenagers and eldery people. Considering the fact that it the bridge accident actually occured, I think it's stupid to change the number of people dead. But then again, they fucked up everything else 'true', so why not? And I agree, 36 isn't that much different from 40. So what was the big deal in the first place?Durandal wrote: I don't see much of a huge difference between 36 and 40.
I would be rather offended though, if someone I knew had died in that accident. They could have been one of the four who apparently didn't die when the bridge gave.

It's the same reason they sell stuff for like $19.99 instead of $20.00. The latter sounds bigger.
