I find this critique to be laughable. Mind you, I don't watch much of "Buffy," but if someone who is CLEARLY evil mocks Christian values, I would think that would actually SUPPORT the fundamentalist position. Shouldn't they be saying something like "look what happens when you turn from the path." Sorry, but the character in here who seduces and murders girls is not being glamorised by the show. They've obviously seriously mistaken the character of this person. This is like someone reading David Copperfield and deciding that Mr. Murdstone is the protagonist of the novel.

The Inquisition is, IMHO, questionable, since they used the Papacy as refuge from the Throne and the Throne as refuge from the Papacy. Neither church nor state particularly liked the Inquisition, but neither could ever muster the strength to abolish it. So the Inquisition continued at its rate of one execution every three years (IIRC) for a couple centuries.
1 every 1000 days? for all their rep, I thot it would be a helluva lot more.
You would think that, wouldn't you? And yet Texas executes more people in a year than the Inquisition did in a century.
Much of the Inquisition's modern reputation is completely fictional, made up by English Protestant partisans two centuries after its end, to drum up support for the brutal purging of Catholics from England.
